Default Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Has anyone put these on a Z?

They have a 245/40/18, but they dont have a 275/40/18 for the rear, only a 275/35/18. Would that work? I drive w/out traction control, so, I'm not worried about VDC flashing on, but, will that effect my handling at all?

I know of someone that has a 285/40 on the rear with the 245/40 front. No problems reported and her car does have VDC.

Here's a tire comparison link so you can see how a tire diameter will change things.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Based on the comparos between these 2 sizes you'd be better off with the 285/40. If I'm not mistaken any diameter difference greater then .75-1" is too much.

Just because you don't have VDC tire sizes that are too far apart can affect your ABS and LSD if you have it.

tire rack rates them as the best street tire. they are priced acordingly though. i wouldn't screw around with wrong sizes for vdc equiped cars.

275/40/18 and 275/35/18.

DO NOT do this setup! I made the mistake and TCS goes NUTS!

I got the A/S (all season) instead of the PS2. Not as sticky but a great tire and longer life - also available in correct sizes.
