I went from the stock to Toyo's 275/35/19 rear and 245/35/19 front and I need to confirm the air pressure. I think the air pressure maybe the same if not lower

the ride quality sucks because these wheels are very heavy. lots more unsprung weight means the suspension has to work harder. the touring/performance 18" are no featherweights either. i think they are 26 lb in the back.

That's pretty heavy. Those wheels are for show. If you want performance, get high quality forged wheels. 20 pounds front 21 or 22 rear. Those weights will be lighter if you use 18's.

I have the Volk LE37T's... "performance" wheels as you call them. The steering response on them with Toyo T1S 275/35/19 and 245/35/19 is awful. When I want to shift lanes, I watch myself turn the wheel, and then a second later the car turns. It's the most god-awful feeling I've ever experienced. I'm actually thinking of downgrading to LE37T 18s for that exclusive reason.

Really? I have the exact same setup as you (same tires, wheels, sizes) but my steering is fine and on time. Any ideas?

What PSI do you run them at cold and hot ? What suspension mods do you have, if any ? How long have you had them ?

I'm sure u guys know this....but dont' run the psi to low to have a smoother ride...its the only thing protecting your rims from bending if u happen to hit a large bump or pot hole.

Have the same set up as you. Also like you, i noticed that steering response was slower. For the original poster, i went from 17 to 19's and i didn't notice any change in ride quality. It was pretty bad stock, and it's still pretty bad, but at least it looks good =)

anyone has any idea of how slow steering response could happen and is there any solution for it?

I'm about to order my 19"Volks. Right now I'm running on stock 17". Is the ride really bad enough ? That would make me reconsider. What's up with that steering issue?

I went from stock track wheels and tires to 19 inch Volk LE37's with Bridgestone S03's. I think the ride quality is fine and steering is much tighter and quicker than with the stock track wheels and tires. Changing lanes is almost effortless. I've driven a lot of high performance cars with a rougher ride than mine. Maybe thats why i think my car rides smooth, even smoother than stock.

Anybody else? A local shop has Volk LE37T and Toyo T1S for $3,750.

19x8.5 245/35 F
19x9.5 275/35 R

I asked about offsets and they told me they were designed specifically for the Z wheel and no offset was necessary. They will tuck right into the wheel well.

But I'm not sure this is the best way to go. I was thinking about 18" NIsmo or TE37s.

I want ot improve steering responsiveness, grip, and not scarifice ride quality. And I want to make sure the rims are strong as possible. What the best way to go?

Increase in performance over the stock 17" setup is moe important to me than looks. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

just a comment... the weight shouldn't make your ride quality worse unless you count slower acceleration as ride quality... 26lbs and 30 lbs is pretty heavy..heavier than stock..

That's because Toyos are a crappy performance tire. Every one goes on how their ride has improved. It has improved because they have soft sidewalls, they are ok when driving straight, but when you need to make a turn they are very unresponsive. When you get the new wheels get better tires, make sure they have stiff sidewalls, otherwise if you stick to toyos again your car might take 2 seconds to turn instead of 1.

Default WOW...First time I heard that one..Toyo's suck..

I know sometimes these issues are subjective, and your probaly right there not the best one's out there (Toyo's), but there not too bad. When I first started this thread it was to pin- point how my ride quality had changed due to a change from stock 18's to Axis Milano 19's. I now think it's because of a combination of things, which should have been expected on my part. I went with a heavier wheel, lower profile tire and stayed with the same stock suspension. I think this combo is the reason why my ride quality wasn't what I expected when I made the switch.
