Default New iForged Aeros

Thanks to Paul at Avalon racing, I have a great set of iForged Aeros. 2 piece, brushed, 8 X19, 10 X 19. These wheels have the new ceramic coating that iForged announced at SEMA. Much more durable and harder than any clearcoat.

Paul gave me an incredible price and kept me informed of the progress every step of the way. These wheels look amazing in person.....photos don't do them justice. I just shot a few quick pictures, but will post better ones when I have a chance.

I've had my well'known negative opinion in the past...most of which had nothing to do with the wheels. themselves. If you're considering these, go through Paul. You'll be guaranteed top shelf customer service and pricing. You can't do better than that.

Love the wheels, look great (I once upon a time had a set on my Z), but damn after all the crap you had to say about iForged, why the change?

I am not knocking your choice in wheels, I would consider the wheels possibly, even after some serious service issues with iForged. But, you had some pretty negative comments/feelings about their service, and their quality (welds, CC, etc.), other than the clearcoat, what have they changed?

If something does go wrong, they still have to go back to iForged, whether you have to deal with them or not, it is still a PITA. The guy I sold my wheels to (after all 4 were re-clearcoated) bent one with little effort, that kind of worries me....

Wow.....maybe I shouldn't have bought them...........nah, just kidding.

My issues were with certain people at iForged......not the wheels. I had no first hand experience with the wheels myself, but there were a lot of problems posted on the web.

The design is probably my favorite, followed by the Volks that I've had. I was considering HRE's, and I discussed the pros and cons of these wheels with Paul, and decided to roll the dice with iForged. So far, so good.

One thing my installer said today, is that he's mounted dozens of HRE wheels, and he thought that these iForged were machined much more precisely overall. He said they were very well made wheels. I think some design elements may have changed, because my TP sensors fit perfectly on the wheels...no bands needed.

I may have made the biggest mistake in the world by buying these, or I may have just gotten a great of wheels. Right now, I've got the design I've wanted for a long time......but time will tell. I've ordered another car which won't arrive for more than year, and I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to keep the Z or sell it when it finally arrives. It looks, handles, and runs so good right now, I may have two sports cars in the garage next year.

Paul has the latest info on iForged quality and production.....he's done dozens of sets of wheels for customers. It may well be that things have changed quite a bit for the better.

Yep, they do look nice, but I still have a very negative opinion on IForged. Glad you like 'em and hope they last.

Nice ZZtop

The brushed looks so clean and classy.

What was your wait time after you placed the order with Avalon?

<~~ Debating whether or not he should go with Intro Forged.

I work a lot, and the Z is not my work vehicle......so it's always a treat when I get to drive it.

The nice thing about dealing through Paul is that I was able to avoid Vince directly, and because Paul places so many orders, perhaps they take him a bit more seriously than one individual.

Either way, these wheels seem quite good. In fact, going down in width from the Volks, the tires are not nearly as stetched, and the car rides and handles much better.

I did not mean to imply that they were easy to bend, it could have been a defect in that wheel, not sure. Overall, they seemed to be pretty tough wheels.

ZZ, I love the wheels, and hope you are happy, again they look great. The guy I sold mine to had a PPW and I thought they looked unbelievable on that color.

I just felt like someone should give you a hard time after all the iForged customers you gave a hard time to.

Oh, and I have dealt with Paul before, they (Avalon) are good guys to deal with, I only wish I would have bought my iForged wheels through them....

If someone is in the market for wheels and and dropping 2K+ for a set of wheels is not a big deal, then they should spend a little more for the assurance that they will not end up with some of IForged's crap. Go with some Volks, Nismos, HREs, or BBS. Again, the IForged are nice looking wheels, but if I had it to do over again, I'd spend some extra cash on something else.

My feelings for the people at iForged are well documented and have not changed. Having said that, and also having owned several sets of Volks, I can say with conviction that these new wheels are not crap. I can't say for sure that they are better than Volks, but they seem to be as well made and they are of a style that I like very much.

I drove the hell out my Z last night, and I had no problems at all. As I said above, the car rides and handles better due to the tires fitting better on the slightly thinner wheels, so at this point, I'm very pleased. We'll see how well they hold up.
