WOW. Just WOW.
Wow. I just got home from my local Nissan dealership, and after changing my underpants, I sat down to say "I just test drove the Z." WOW. I couldn't believe the guy let me test drive it. I told him I was about to turn 18 and he was like, "Well you're supposed to be 21, but rules are meant to be broken, come with me." He took me out to a brand new off the truck red 2004 Z with the touring package. He drove off from the dealership onto the highway and pushed the car (90 mph in 4th) to the limits. He did some drifts with VCD and without VCD to show me the difference it makes. My neck was snapping with each shift. I was in heaven. I then got to drive on some back roads, but wasn't too ballsy, afterall if I got a speeding ticket I'd be the one paying for it (and we had just seen a cop 2 minutes before I took over, 17 + brand new RED Z with window sticker = ticket). I took it up to 60 at most. I was very very very very impressed. I am 100% sold. I gotta have one.

Just make sure you don't buy the one you test drove. Looks like that will be the dealers Romp car!
I would recommend buying one that just got off the truck,
GL, you might want to check on insurance, might be pricey for your age group.

I am happy you were impressed with its performance but for most readers here, they must be thinking about the poor guy that is going to buy that Z not knowing the abuse it is getting daily with this salesperson. Now some of the people at the dealer hopefully understand why we insist on getting a Z with no miles on it.

I asked him about a break-in period, and he said that because of the high quality materials used in the Z, as long as regular service and oil changes are done, they are basically bulletproof. But I'm still doing a break-in of at least 1,500 miles when I get mine (I put 300 miles on my current car one weekend because I got an itch to drive.). He took that Z to the red, not just over 4000.

I did ask the guy who gave a tour about my 04 Z having 11 miles on it when I received it and whether he felt it was a lot. He wasn't sure. Mine was one that the dealer ordered already and I put down a deposit on it. It was the first 04 coupe he delivered.
Here's a pic that I took while in the tour bus. BTW, just because there are non-Zs there doesn't mean they're built at Oppama. I saw FX35s/45s, G35s and I35s there which aren't built in Oppama. Nissan does ship cars from other plants to Oppama for international shipping.

The average mileage the owners here are getting is 7 - this is found from loading it in Japan and unloading it. I was there the day mine came off the truck, and it read EXACTLY 7.0
