Default VQ35HR lift

Yes folks, im new to this group and the Z. It was a random decision but I got a good deal on a 2007 ZR 6spd (Enthusiast I believe).
Now I dont know a whole lot about sports cars but I've driven a few, I've noticed i feel lift after about 5k rpm. Is the lift from the VQ35HR the same or similar to the Vtec in the honda type Rs?

(Im from Antigua and just moved to Florida, We have alot of type Rs and Evos back home.)

Do you mean like the power band? Where all of a sudden it really starts to motor. If so mine is pretty smooth,if you have modifications which might give more high end torque or horsepower yes. If stock then i don't know what you are referring to.

There is DEFINITELY a noticeable uptick in power delivery at elevated RPM - particularly when I go from my '03 to my '08. Takes a whole different driving style when driving 7/10ths+.

It's not a rush like my Volvo (with turbo and relatively aggressive mapping) but the HiRev (HR) motor does have a very appealing bit of extra grunt the deeper one goes on the loud pedal.

I did a big comparison somewhere on here between the DE and HR engines (both in stock tune) and originally, I thought I liked my DE better due to the perceived "higher torque" (felt on the butt dyno) but after driving my HR and learning to manage the different power curve up in the hills, feel it IS a superior engine.

But I'll NEVER sell my '03....
