If you have not bought yet, go with the 370 unless you are looking for a really good deal on an 07 or 08. This car is about handling and the 370 is way better in that respect. I think the shorter gearing is a good call as well. the 350z gearing is really way too tall. Why do I need to go 74 in 2nd gear? I'd rather have shorter gearing for better acceleration.

350 final drive ratio: 3.54
Yeah... that is a huge difference in gearing...

I think we agree on the issues here - we both like the car. I'm glad you are excited about it. But when you say "...a real Z" and refer to the 370, that can be interperated as an insult to other z owners. Buy that 370 and bring it down to the south bay for a fun run - euro Sunday or ZONC run. I'd love to see one on the road.
Yep, I am going to own one of these, but am waiting a couple of years. Never buy the first 1 or 2 year models. I see so much potential in this car, visually and mechanically. If I am still around by then, sure I will bring it down, but I am hoping to be living in Europe by then. Mmmm, a Z on some nice back country European roads.

Didn't mean it to come out like that. The "real Z" thing was just what popped into my head when I saw it. Of course a "Z" is a "Z" if it comes from Nissan. I have always considered the 350Z a nice car and represented Nissan quite well. Many respect that car.

No worries. I'll be getting one as well. Just not sure when. I am itching to get one now, but I'd like to see that digital gauge read out either go away or painted matte black before I buy. Or see what the aftermarket brings. THat and I have only had my 07 for 18 months or so.
A Z on any country back-roads is fun. I have been known to take a Thursday and Friday off with the ZONC crew so we can hit local back roads without traffic on our way to a weekend trip to San Simeon or elsewhere. South Bay to San Simeon with no freeways is great.
I have to see if two suitcases will fit in the 370 trunk like they do in the 350 trunk. Of maybe I'll just need new luggage
Good times.

No. You noticed that the 370z has a higher hood and beltline than the 350z but the overall height is the same/slightly less due to the 370z having a shorter greenhouse (belt-line to roof).

The 370Z is over-stylized.... Kinda reminds me of the way Hundai did with the Tiburon. The 370Z will look very dated rather quickly because of that. Maybe that's what Nissan wants though... Planned obsolescence... Nissan should've keep the classic 350Z lines and just cleaned it up & refined it a bit.
I mean, bumper fangs?? Boomerage head/tail lights?? A hatch so high up they had to put the third brake light UNDER the spoiler?? C'MON!!!
