SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Two young men are in the hospital after running a stop sign and wedging their car under a semitruck in the far West Valley.
It happened at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the Loop 303 at Peoria Avenue in Surprise.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the driver of a 2009 Nissan was westbound when he reportedly ran a stop sign. The car plowed into the side of a Wal-Mart semi.
The driver and his passenger -- both men in their 20s -- were flown to a Valley hospital and are expected to recover.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
Loop 303 was closed in both directions in the area for a time, but has since reopened.

And that's why you don't run stop signs.

Yea, that's the only site that said they ran the stop sign. Its kinda hard to believe that they would though....especially since they live in and know the area well and there is a HUUUUGGGGGGE nasty bump in the road right there. I can't even take my z over it, no matter how slow I go I will for sure scrape like crazy. So to launch a GTR over it into a freeway(that doesn't have a stop light at that intersection) would be insane lol. If that was the case, I'm sure the car would've been airborne and the oil pan busted before landing under the semi.

the picture doesnt really let you see the damage to the car. Also, i agree if they new the area they would of known doing it would end in a car accident or something unless there was a unknown thing.

Yeah, something doesn't sound right about it. I can't imagine they would intentionally run it, knowing the GTR would bottom out, and knowing they are launching it into a freeway. Everyone in the area knows the huge dip right there.

EDIT:
The video doesn't really show the car, so I added the only other picture of it that I have underneath, you can see the GTR in the second image.

lol yep thats the one!!! That white GTR that was always parked out front. I can't believe it went out like this! I felt like a ricer always trying to antagonize him when he would be driving next to me by down shifting or taking off from lights a little quicker then usual or something to get him to step on it haha. I just wanted to see how hard it pulls, but he never would though lol, thats another reason why I don't believe he'd purposely run a stop sign, he babied that thing.

My guess is he stopped at the stop sign, saw the headlights from the semi and underestimated how close it really was and didn't take off fast enough because he was trying to avoid the dip and he slammed into the side of the semi. OR he maybe was just not paying attention and looked in only one direction and started taking off but got hit by the truck in the other lane? (its 2 lanes, 1 going north & 1 going south, with a road that heads east and west crossing it). I really doubt he would run it though, especially in that area. No way.
