Amp Rack nearly complete. I hooked up the second sub and the overall sound now is perfect. I am a little worried about the MDF and holes for the bolts being so close to the edge that it may break. I used some bigger washers but may try to get a 1/4 steel plate to go on top to take some pressure off the edge. If the Box itself was molded out of fibreglass and then just use the MDF for the front panels I don't think I would be as worried of this breaking beacuse the counter weight would be next to none with the fibreglass. I tried to push some styrofoam under the bottom of the speaker box to take some pressure off but not sure if it will help long term.

So I have been busy and didn't have time to complete things yet plus i need the weather to improve if im going to cover the final plate in CF or something because i will need to do this in the garage.
I did take the car for a spin accross the city last Sat and the system worked flawlesly. No unwanted vibrations or squeeks. Powerfull tight clear bass.
I hope to complete the cover this weekend less the CF and will post pics

Here is a pic of the face plate that covers and hides the boxes nicley. It might be a month or so before I work on covering this with CF or something.
I am thinking of cutting out a Z logo in between the two speakers on this cover plate and then lighting it up from the back with some neon or something foe a little show and rice haha.
What do you think?

Setup looks good so far, what i would have done is maybe make a cutout above the center console, put plexiglass and amp behind it for some extra sexy look...
None the less looks good, not sure why you need so much bass though, my little 10" kappa is enough to rattle my insides at only a fraction of its potential, literally makes my eardrums go numb so i always turn down the amp.
Borat seal of approval.

Looks good.
Why don't you spice up that panel by changing that flat piece into something a little more flowing. Try to get it behind the center console so you can access the small lid on there.
And how is that panel held in place, I see no screws?
This is very similar to my old setup and I had four screws on mine to prevent it from making noise.

Thanks for the ideas guys.
I think the amp idea was good, I did a quick test fit before and it looked to big to me but I didn't try to hard to make it work. Kinda late now I just re did the amp rack in the rear.
I could remove the top cover and fibreglass the two like little volcano's. I think there is one guy with that already and it looked good. I am not sure if im ready to try that yet.
My latest idea was to cut a circle in the center and then get some glass pcs etched and light it up from behind. I could get a few different pcs made like a Z car, my350z.com logo, or anything else really.

It moves even more when you drive the car.
I just used stainless allen head screws with insert in the panel behind it.
That way it is not some cheesy wood screws.
As said, velcro is thick so it is hard to use and get a tight fit.
How will you seal the gap on top?
Attached is my panel, made a hole in the middle for a piece of plexiglass.

Thanks for sharing the pic SC350z looking good. You were thinking of changing this up did you get a chance yet?
The gap at the back is covered with the MDF it's L shape form the front. It sounds like some screws of some sort will be best to secure this in place.

Just use some nice screws and it will look just fine.
Yes I'm in the middle of redoing my whole install.
I got the first fiberglass enclosure sitting in the garage but not done yet.
Hopefully I will have an enclosure for a 10" all done soon, if I can only get the time.
I'm also remodeling the door panels to sink my 3-way kit in to the door and getting rid of the cubby up front to mount some extra gauges.

I know I'm asking about this years later. But its my first time seeing it.
Do you happen to remember your angles and measurements.
I would like to recreate them in my ZR.
yours is the best set up I have seen. any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
LJ
