Sorry all, won't be able to make it on the 25th - am driving up to Winton in the afternoon for a track course the next day.

What course are you doing ... John Bowe's? If so, take a stop watch as I'm imterested what the pros will get around there in your car (which you're the passanger). I did the John Bowe's course at Winton in the S2000.

Yes, is the High Performance course with John Bowe Institute. I did the advanced course few weeks back which was fun, and the instructor told me he'll have his stopwatch out for Winton.

BTW, as I live locally to the start point for the cruise I'll just come down and meet you all in the morning.

Cool, keep us posted ... I'll be interested to see how you went, and what other ars you had there. When I did mine, we had John Bowe and Paul Stokell as instructors ... there were 4 of them all up.

ps. Make sure you fill up right before you get to the track, 'cos you'll get a lot of track time and when I did the course, I was running out of fuel towards the end of the day.

David is correct... It is always like that..... just like running out of batteries when I play my R/C cars (forgot to charge them before going down).... damn.... always need to watch other people having fun while charging up my batteries..... the feeling isn't good at all!!!

cheers,

richie

Ok, thanks - will do (and despite what APS said in another post, beforehand I'll be filling up on BP Ultimate!)

The instructor said there will be a couple of GT3's, and the course is the day after the V8 round so hopefully John Bowe and others will be staying on for the course.

$295 at Winton if I'm not mistaken. About $40 more if you want to do it at Phillip Island. Sandown cost is somehwere around there as well.

LemanZ and David, was $328 (inc GST) for the course ... with choice of Winton, Calder or Sandown.

Looks like the price has gone up a little bit since I did it last time. Also it looks like they don't do these courses at Phillip Island anymore .... come to think of it, I heard something about it a while ago as they though it was too dangerous to do 'courses' over there.

For anyone interesed, here's their site with details http://www.johnbowedriving.com/

The instructor said there will be a couple of GT3's

I'll be interested to see how you as well as the other car there go. Have fun there.

Where is Lookout Point B on the map, I can't pick out the location?
It looks like Olivers Hill or Frankston.

I live in Mount Eliza so I will pick you up on the way through wherever Point B is.

Nowaday, I always saw 3 hardtop 350z on the way i go to work everyday, one red parked at Prince Hwy, one silver parked at Caulfield station and a LM appear near north road. But 2 of them seems to be owned by older lady (mum).

David,

I finally got to one of the John Bowe hi-perf courses yesterday at Calder. It wasn't the best track by the look of it but was still a lot of fun - would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't done it.

Was a good spread of road cars such as mx-5's, WRX's, a B4, Porsches new and old, and a HSV. Was also some cars set up for the track with four of them being brought in by trailer - couple of BMW's, couple of Porsches, a Datsun and couple of V8 bombadores.

Brett.
