Does anyone know if an LS1 would fit into a Z? I have been thinking about that swap, not that I would actually do it unless the motor blew again and I thought I would have plenty of $$ for custom fabrication... since the VQ fits into the FD, and the FD guys have a lot of LS1 swaps... makes me think it would work. How realistic do you think that is?

A turbo focus motor hahaha, yea i guess your right. i just like the rotary and dont like to see it being replaced by LS1's, SR20s, and the like. but for the amount he got the Z motor for he could have bought a 20B and destroyed anything in its path.

something else I just realized about the VQ in that FD....it has no middle or upper intake manifold yet....I wish them luck trying to fit it under a hood.

Yup. They're probably gonna have to cut a Chris Fosberg style hole in that hood. The VQ is a tall motor.

That's sweet. I bet that wasn't the easiest install, but it looks cool. Pretty big compliment to the 350z crowd IMO.

there's a company that actually has a swap kit for the LSX series engines, so most fabrication can be bypassed...i don't remember who sells it of the top of my head, but yea a nice tuned LS7 cranking out like 650-700 naturally aspired horses in an rx-7 is a something to b feared...damn id give a kidney for one.

I like my Z and not just because the VQ motor is great, but what it represent. When I had my FDs I like what it represneted, something different than everyone else has.
I had 3 FDs, never had any issue with them either. The rumors about FD blowing up is so over rated and I can say that because I owned the car. But the reason I don't have no more is because it does makes you paranoid. I was constantly make sure the temp were okay (I lived in South Carolina at the time) and all that. So don't be disrespecting my opinion when I have some respect for cars and what makes them.

The NA rotary will outlive a piston motor...think I better grab my nomex
