Can someone confirm that in the instructions outlined way back in post 12/16 we are actually cutting the wiring harness from the car itself, removing the shealth, removing the stock clips and exposing Green/Blue/Black/Yellow wires which are then subsequently wired/soldered as such:
Fan 1 Drivers Side
(1) Blue out – (2) Green In (350z harness)
(1) Black Out – (2) Black In (350z harness)
Fan 2 Passenger’s Side
(1)Blue Out – (2) Blue In (350z harness)
(1)Black Out – (2) Yellow In (350z harness)
Fan 1 Drivers Side
(1) Blue out – (2) Green In (350z harness)
(1) Black Out – (2) Black In (350z harness)
Fan 2 Passenger’s Side
(1)Blue Out – (2) Blue In (350z harness)
(1)Black Out – (2) Yellow In (350z harness)

Mishimoto Fan Shroud wiring
That's exactly what you need to do. I still haven't soldered mine yet. Just wrapped them in black electrical tape and tie strapped them to the Vortech Piping. Works like a charm.
I was a little hesitant to cut the stock wiring clips off of the car but that's what needs to be done. This is what I followed:
1. Cut the ends of both wire leads long and short that connect directly to the stock fans.
2. Strip off the black heat jacket.
3. Take Blue wires from each harness and solder them to the Blue wire on fan 2.
4. Take Yellow wires from each harness and solder them to the Black wire on fan 2.
5. Take Green wires from each harness and solder them to the Blue wire on fan 1.
6. Take Black wires from each harness and solder them to the Black wire on fan 1.
7. Heat shrink all connections and then slide some sort of loom over them for protection.
8. Connect everything up and that should be that?

Apologies for reviving a dead thread (again) but I'm having trouble getting one of my fans on.
My driver side fan goes on without a hitch when it needs to but my passenger side does not. I tried turning on AC to force it to go on but it fails to do that as well. Anybody have a problem like this?

Did you follow the wiring outline?
Can you confirm you've followed the wiring outline in this thread or are you trying a different approach? Have you driven the car at all to warm it up and see if the fan turns on once the car reaches normal operating temperature? Not 100% sure but I thought that only one fan turns on until the second one is necessary (A/C on and car @ normal operating temp).

Hi I am from Germany and my English is unfortunately not so great so I've still a few questions.
When I image the comparison of -Bigc-:
with the description of punish_her:
My set up for this question will be as your looking at the car Fan 1 is the Passenger side, Fan 2 is the Driver side
1. Cut the ends of both wire leads long and short, that connect directly to the stock fans.
I have to say that is the image differs from the description. If I go out of the the large fan on the images on the passenger side sits.
What is now rightly so as on the image or in the description. or is it no matter how I connect the fans to the plugs.
thank you

I used your wiring method and only the passenger fan turns on after like 30 min or running the car or when I guess the car reaches a certain temp. My question for you is, does the driver side fan only turn on when the car reaches an even higher temp? Because neither of the fans turn on when I turn the a/c on, only the blower fan.

When it's really hot (in AZ), sometimes there's no cool air for several minutes -- especially when I'm moving at slow parking lot speeds or at a stop light.
Next time that happens, I'm going to stop the car and check the fans.
Nissan extended the warranty on the fans, but they made NO mention of this when I asked them about any recalls in 2010.

I got both my fans replaced not long ago under warranty (even with my PWR radiator installed), nissan has extended the warranty to 100k miles I believe. I thought they were working but apparently they weren't reaching full speed the whole time I was turbo'd, and eventually they died completely. Now the A/C blows cold even in 100 degrees at red lights. Before dumping a ton of money into aftermarket fans make sure your OEM fans are working properly and exercise the extended warranty if you can....

Question: How did you guys manage to take care of the fan shroud tabs that didn't line up when installing? Did you guys have to fabricate? And if so, how did you go about that process? Thanks.
Never mind. I see that the newer fan shrouds fit perfectly as Buster FL mentioned.

This is somewhat off topic but below is the wiring color code from the harness going to each fan. Can anyone tell me which set of wires goes to which OEM fan? The FSM only states fan 1 or 2, but doesn't specify which fan is the driver's side/passenger's side.
BLUE-white
YELLOW-red
BLACK

Looking through the service manual I came across a slight diffrence between the 04 and 06 wiring. If you can refrence EC 480 you can see that there is 4 pins per plug. Each power wire per pin has the same voltage but turned on at diffrent temps. So each plug has a Green(1), Blue(2), Black(3), and Yellow(4) wires. Terminal 1 & 2 are pos, 3 & 4 are Neg.
So the wiring for the 04 cooling fans that would match the 06 is 1 on both terminals will go to POS on one fan with 3 on both terminals. The other fan will have 2 & 4 hooked the same way on the other side. Basicly 2 green will be hooked to the blue wire on fan 1 and 2 black will be hooked to the black wire on fan 1. Fan 2 will have 2 blue hooked to the one blue and 2 yellow hooked to the black on fan 2. I'll be wiring and mounting these up shortly and will have alot of pictures.

For the 06+ I made this diagram. It should help with using all the wires and not having to solder any wires.
I noticed the L + R/W wires both coming from the same relay #3 for circuit 2, and W + B/W both coming from relay #1 for circuit 1.
#2 relay is only responsible for activating the ground for the 2nd circuit which is connected for the 1st plug in my diagram. Upper plug circuit 2 and lower plug circuit 1.
For 03-04 the colors are:
2004 - 2006
Green = B/Y
L/W = R/W
RED = W
I probably can't test this since Im using Haltech Elite and Wiring specialties CAN BUS module (I will contacted them to ask) . But I thought I would share this.
