It is the latest. The plenum section tapers towards the front. I think the previous versions only had one or two ports on the side also.

The reason that that part of the pipe is cut is because when i get the intake i got it from a friend that had it on his altima and he had to cut it so that he could redirect the throttle plate the way he needed it to go for his intake.

What i did to install it on my infiniti g35 was to get a 90o aluminum bent and i used connecting boots to connect the bend and the flange to the intake and it worked fine for me. If you dont like the connecting boot thing then you can just get it welded back together and your back to normal.
