What's wrong depends on the year.

The '03-'06 has a conventional slave cylinder mounted on the outside of the transmission case. There's a clutch fork and a pivot ball between the slave and the throwout bearing. The pivot ball is prone to breaking off, and that'll cause your problem.

The later versions have a concentric slave cylinder, which is inside the case. It is prone to sticking, but it usually doesn't fail completely in one event like you describe.

Those are the two most likely scenarios, but it could also be the master cylinder or the hydraulic lines.

If you can get under the car, you may see the clutch fork is sticking too far out of the transmission case. That happens when the pivot ball breaks. There was a thread here a several weeks back with a good picture of what that looks like. See post #13 here:

You're looking up, and the front of the car is to the right. That's the left side exhaust manifold at the bottom of the picture.

No. Change your clutch fluid to a dot 3 or 4 fluid first before you go changing parts. Search next time.

the pivot ball itself is a 5 dollar part, however you need to drop the transmission so itll be a decent amount

My clutch has 140k miles on it and it's still going.

Try the cheap fixes before rebuilding the entire assembly.
