Default Front Lower Control Arm Question

Hi everyone, before posting this I was trying to use the "search bar" and didn't get any luck on finding any answers. I am pretty new to cars and all I know is that I want to do everything right and not half ***'d. So if anyone knows the answer to my novice question then that would be extremely helpful!

Basically, I went to get an alignment today and the guy told me that my front lower control arm has "play". So getting an alignment as of right now wouldn't make any sense because there would be tire wear still. What I want to know is to get rid of the "play" can I just buy new bushings for example, Whiteline bushings and just replace my old ones and would that get rid of the "play"?. Or do I have to buy new arms entirely?

Thanks!

take them off, have the bushing pressed out, and replace with something like this
