Default Help! I messed up changing coilovers :(

I got through changing the rear coilovers and the front right side coilover and I got to the left side, and me being careless and stupid, removed the bolt for the top hat, and while trying to wiggle out the stock strut, the spring ended up decompressing, and I can't get the strut out. I've tried using spring compressors but I don't have much room to work in the wheel whell. Should I just cut the bottom stem of the strut?

take your floor jack , position it under the lower spring bucket and use it to compress the spring so that the shaft protrudes through the top hat and you can put the nut back on.

Careful that you don't over compress the spring as you still start to lift the car off the jacks. I would through some stuff under the car to support it just in case.

Thank you for the response. I tried that a couple days ago but I couldn't get the spring to compress enough for the stud on the strut to go all the way through the top hate hole so i could put the nut on without having the car lifting up too much
