Auto Max Dealer in the Mass. area *BEWARE OF THIEVES*
I bring you this story even though I was looking for an Evo. They have about 10+ 350z in the lot and I just want everyone to know do NOT go there to pick one up. You'll know why after reading this!
Hello all, I hope this will be something that can save all of you a trip to this dealership. The website is www.onlynicecars.com and they are complete scammers from beginning to end. I found a 2006 Evo MR in white on their site so I decided to check it out, first off they listed the car for $20,999 at 34,000 miles so I get there and take a look at the car. My friends who own Evo's and also mechanics took a look at the car. So without putting it up in the air they saw:
-it was NOT an MR
-it had no cruise control as advertised in the ad (even though I know they do not come with CC)
-it had no leather seats
-it had no MR wheels
-HKS bov installed the wrong way (non reciruiltory)
-lower spash shields missing
-manual boost controler gauge....zip tied to the radiator
-mysterious wires that leads to no where in the engine bay
-Exedy stickers all under the hood (one can only guess the owner may have changed the clutch)
-active differential all F'd up. The buttons where you choose "tarmac, gravel, snow" were all lit up and could not be turned off
-JDM style Honda shift ****
-one gauge missing inside the gauge cluster (I forgot to ask them which one)
-Front end repainted
-engine knock and other noises indicating the car saying "end my torture please, bring me to the junk yard"
Funny thing is I got in the car and I gave it a few rev's, up to about 5-5500 rpms and the salesmen yelled at me saying "HEY!" and gave me an evil look...I thought cars built to rev that high or higher was safe to rev that high. I didn't tack the thing for 2 mins. I later was given the excuse "we don't want you to beat the crap out of the car before you buy it" and I thought "well if i was beating the crap out of it you'd be pissing in your pants in the passenger seat begging for mercy"
So the salesman takes me in and sits me down. First he undermines my ability as a Toyota tech and as a person who has infinite sources for pricing cars through sales then my friends comes in and tells him the active diff is broken along with other things. That totally went over his head like he never heard it. The worst part is he goes "we are a no haggle dealership and this car is going for $23,000" I told him you advertised for 20,999 online and now your telling me its selling for 2 grand more on top of everything being broken? he tells me it is what it is and we wont sell it for less. at that point I thanked him for his time and left. Funny thing is he gave me his card and said "give me a call if you change your mind" get the F outta here, I wouldn't buy a busted Evo from you even if you lowered the price to $15,000 So bottom line is this dealership are thieves and misleading, do NOT waste a second with these guys because nothing good comes out of them.

no problem trodis, I know what your saying, they have a ton of ZGs on cars.com and autotrader.com and they all seemed decently priced. I feel like this is something the Z community should know about, their evil intentions. these guys don't deserve a single penny from anyone.

HA! Someone I know was looking to buy a G from that shythole and they kept changing the overall price depending on whom you spoke with. He turned on the car to see how it ran, and to his surprise the thing seems to vibrate at idle. Hmmm thats funny since the VQ is suppose to be one of the smooooooothest running motors out there. We should have a meet to blockage that place from flooding the market with garbage...

ha ha yeh that place has a wicked bad rep amungst dealers the dealer i used to work at used to sell the beat to **** crap that we wouldnt sell to them and a week later youd see it out front there nothing fixed being sold full price lol and the work that they do actually do to cars is sooooooooo hack its not even funny
seriously, we should make a list of crap dealers that do shady business. everyones bad experience with different dealerships can be benifitical to those who may want to visit these dealerships in the future.

I bought my Z from that exact dealership. I definitely didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from them, but the price was right and the car was in decent shape so I bought it anyway. In retrospect I probably should have looked elsewhere.
Lol, a dealership that advertises a price and when you get there, it turns out to be a misprint or a misunderstanding. That never happens
When buying preowned cars like Evos or STIs, it's always a buyer beware case. It's actually hard to find these cars in true stock condition. Most of them get modified, some heavily, and then returned back to semi shady stock condition before it is sold off. Dealers don't know any better sometimes and just push the troubled car off to someone else. Sucks. That place sounds like a dealership that should be avoided.

I went ahead and reposted into the main dealer thread you mentioned trodis but yea i really do want people in the area to read this so they will think twice before visiting this place. I know evos and STIs are either beaten the crap out of or babied beyond belief and theres nothing in between. Im one of those who baby cars and I wont settle for less from others so I know my search will be long and I'll have to be patient but they are out there and I'll find it.
I drive past this dealer quite a bit too and there seem to be more and more Z's out front that never seem to move. I went to an Auto Max when my wife was looking for a mini cooper. This one was in Marlboro but seemed to be about the same experience. Salesman trying to tell us that they only have highend cars that are in excellent shape blah, blah, blah. When it came down to it he wouldn't even let us drive the car because he didn't want to put any miles on it
We really just wanted to drive one before we took a ride to the Mini dealer in Cambride where we did end up buying, but I would never go back to one of these places again.

they dont want you to do any test drives on any car because they know the moment you start the car....well lets assume it starts you'll notice something is wrong with it. if they could duct tape a hole in the block and make it run to sell, they would.
I went to look at that exact car this past Saturday...they had it advertised (for $20,995 like you said) and when I called to ask if it was still available, they simply answered yes
So I drove from Taunton to Framingham (about an hour) to find out that, yeah the car was available, but only because it HADN'T ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP YET
thanks *******s
anyway, after seeing the 10 Z's out front I figured I'd be better off trying to trade my car in somewhere else, glad to find out it wasn't even an MR

Someone should get them for false advertising
http://www.automaxpreowned.com/detai...g-3672637.html
it's advertised as a 2006. The Vin is a 2004. They also claim it's a GT. Look at the steering wheel. I see no CC. Also it has No Bose system or leather.
I could just keep going on an on
