2005 Track Pistons - STD 1, 2, 3, & OS0.20
2005 Track Pistion Ring Set STD
2005 Track Piston Ring Set OS 0.20
Valve Changes...
Lifters use the same sizes as other years. I still need to add them all to our site...
2005 Track Valve Spring
2005 Track Valve Spring Retainer
And what we have all been waiting for...
VTC!
2005 Track VTC Pulley & Cover Kit LH (does not include gasket or bolts)
2005 Track VTC Pulley & Cover Kit RH (does not include gasket or bolts)
2005 Track VTC Cover Gasket LH
2005 Track VTC Cover Gasket RH

unfortunatly i dont know what else is different yet for the VTC stuff... I know you will need a new front cover as well... I dont know about the harness that will be needed or any ECU differences or any other boxes that may run the VTC... all new stuff to look up...
Just give me a couple days...

still waiting for the new rods / pistosns to come in...
I got the new head gaskets... same thing as the older ones but there is a little cut out on one side for a dowel pin or something it looks like... same bore / thickness etc...
I did find that the lower intake plenum has changed. I have one on the way to compare to the original one...
also the oil pump IS different... it must be stronger especially because there is a factory oil cooler on the 2005 track / 35th anny...
every mechanical engine part for the 350z is now listed on our web site...
to find the 2005 track specific parts just search 2005 track...

is it going to be cheeper then other oil coolers on the market? I do not think so especially now that NISMO has one coming out in the states that is already very affordable...
have I pieced together all of the parts for the oil cooler to work... not yet... hopefully tommorow!
one thing I was just thinking about with this motor...
what IF it is using low compression pistons and higher compression heads and they got 300HP out of it NA... the bottom end of this motor may be what all the FI people have been looking for...
and the purchase of a fully assembled short block being less then the cost of all the parts needed to build up a motor not including the labor is going to solve sooo many peoples problems...
I cant wait for the new piston's and rods to be in my hands so I can find out for sure...
I hope the reason for this big overhall making only 300HP NA is due to a stronger bottom end and high compression heads...
woo hoo!!!!

well...
for example... IF the pistons in the 05 yeild a lower compression ratio and you use the heads off the current z's... you will have a low compression motor for FI...
if the pistons & rods are forged in the 05, and it is a lower compression motor that is tweeked to run more HP NA it can run even more with FI...
just possiblities... just have to wait till i can get a piston in my hands

it'd almost make sense huh?
nissan might not want to actually release a FI Z, because of how expensive it is to warrenty it, but making an engine with the option to do FI right out of the box is a pretty damn good idea.
for us with cars already though, we'd maybe need the ecu reprogrammed to handle the VTC right?

I know on most of the turbo e36 M3s and the nonturbo Supras, some of the kits include a headgasket that lowered compression. This sounds like it would be good for the new motor and F/I if all that you have mentioned is correct. Does anyone make one?

I got the pinstons in!
Unfortunatly someone took the block that I had with the older pistons in it. But we have another piston from the original 350Z motor at jeff's house he will bring to me on Monday.
If any one has pictures of the factory 350Z Pistons please post in this thread...
here are pictures of the new piston...
I am not going to say my thoughts yet just because I can not compare to the old pistons except by what my memory has saved... and I dont want to trust that...
