Privat Fahren wheels...pics
Here are some pics coutesy of member JimH.
These are 18x8 & 18x9 Privat Fahren with 245-40-18 Nitto 555 up front and 275-40-18 Nitto 555 in back.
These are +40 offset front and rear. Contrary to popular belief...a +40 with this size tire & wheel actually works very well and fills out the fenderwell better than stock.
Jim went from the 17" touring wheels...to these 18's. He lost approx 5lbs at each corner. Not to shabby!
The fronts have a 1 1/2" lip
The rears have a 2" lip.

are you sure it fills the wheelwell better??
the fronts should be tucked 10mm MORE and the rears will got OUT 3mm more??
if the offsets really are +40mm, these measurements should be correct, unless he is using spacers??
btw, I like the dimension of the spokes

Im at home and not sure I remember the 17" touring wheel offsets correctly, but if I do the 18x8 +40 would suck the wheel in 4mm. The 18x9 rear would push it out 6mm. With the larger 245 in front & 275 rear it certainly does give the appearance of a more full wheelwell.
Dont get me wrong, I am excited to see more agressive offsets that push towards the fenderlip, but it isnt always necessary. They look great, they fit perfect, and if Im not mistaken he was very pleased.

I understand that. The wheels may have come inside more, but they also came outside more as well.
the upgrade from 7.5" up front to 8". .643" more went inside than stock. The outside edge went inward -0.143. Factoring the tire in gives 1" more inside and 1/4" more outside.
the upgrade from 8" in back to a 9" .775" more went inside than stock. The outside edge went out an additional .225" Factoring in the tire as well give 1.5" more inside and 1" more outside.

Couple of questions. First, do you know where I can get these rims? I had my car shop call and they said that I can't get the Opal ones (same as Jim's) until June. Is that what you know? I will be using my factory tires and need the 18 8 and 18 9. Also, having a touring, I am curious if the factory tire pressure gauge will still work with this set up? Thanks!

We are the "exclusive distributor" of the Privat Fahren. They were so extremely popular on the 350/g35 I quickly sold out of that particular setup. Ive got one set of 18x9 +40 opal like Jims rear, and I have availability to get the very last 2 18x8 +40 opal fronts.
Other than that you can do 18x9 at all four corners with a +25, or you can go to the darker grey color. Call me and we'll get you all set up.

If i put 18x9 on the rear with +25 offset will it look more agressive / will it come out more outside than the 40 offset?Which will look more agressive the 40 or the 25 offset?

The lower the offset the farther out the wheel will be.
The offset of a wheel is what locates the tire and wheel assembly in relation to the suspension. More specifically, it is the measured distance between the hub mounting surface and the center line of the rim. Below is an explanation of the various types of offsets which are pictured in the above graphic.
Positive Offset
A positive offset occurs when the hub mounting surface is on the street side (the side you see) of the center line of the rim. Most factory rims will have this type of offset.
Zero Offset
When the hub mounting surface is centered within the rim, it is known as a zero offset.
Negative Offset
If the hub mounting surface is on the brake side of the center line of the rim, it is considered a negative offset or “deep dish”.
Note that extensive negative offset can potentially cause increased steering wheel kick-back and place additional stresses on the vehicle's entire suspension.

Not a great pic to tell offset but, in my pic below is a 8" on the front and 9" on the back both with 25mm offsets and the wheels still are tucked a little. Just to give an example ...
