Place: Texas Motorplex @ Ennis, TX
Date: see poll above
Time: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

The gates open at 11 am, but the actual racing (test and tune day) starts at noon. But I'm one of those people who like to get as many run as possible and give my car time to rest in between. So I'll be there at 11 to let my car rest for an hour. Hopefully the ones that told me they wanted to go don't back out and arrive there when I do.

Btw, the dates also depend on the weather - track won't open if it's raining. I'll be updating this thread when it comes closer to those dates.

edit:
If you have a snell-certified helmet and think you can break into 13s, bring it as you'll need one.
Also, be sure to wear long pants and shoes, as your lower body cannot be exposed.
And lose all extra weight on car, like subs, jacks, spare tire, etc.
To race, it'll cost $15. To spectate, it'll cost $10.

It's either the 10th or the 17th. Chances are I'll be there both days, so as long as you can go on one of those days, you can go with me.

I am definately going to make at least one of these...guess i'll be buying some drag radial a little sooner than i thought, or running on the streets.

Don't get drag radials. Go on streets. Anybody can launch at a higher rpm without much clutch action.

I'm not getting drag radials until I hit low 13s and I'm not adding any huge power adders until I hit 12s NA.

Well i didn't want to make my passes on the 19's and the 245's just aren't going to cut it. We will see what happens...i'll probably end up on the 19inch t1-r's.

Well, looking at the current poll and the people who voted.. it looks like some people from outside our area voted. So if we go by just Dallas people voting, it's 4 v 4.

Any others interested?

I wish I could come and watch. I race at Infineon every Weds from March to Nov. When the Z Car Garage has their drag series going we will get about 15 Z's out there. maybe half F/I so you see some pretty fast Z's. They sponsor a drag series with points for wins and extra points for finalist, runner up and winner. Doing something like that might stimulate the interest and get more cars out there. So far I have never been beat by a F/I 350Z in bracket racing. it's damn awesome when they fly by me at 120 or whatever at the end of the 1/4. it's also fun watching them coming

I don't consider myself good enough to start bracket racing. I may try it out this year though.

I've raced some Supras, Vettes, Viper (TT), etc on the track before and I always beat them off the line. But, they always catch up in my 2nd or 3rd gear and all I see out of the corner of my eye is headlights approaching then a blur.

You should start as soon as you can. it takes a while to get in the practice so that you can be competitive. If you are turning 13.6 with street tires, that means you are hooking up pretty well, so your ET's should be fairly consistant.
It's all about consistant runs and reaction times. At Infineon I can race in three different classes with the Z. Sport Street (4-6cyl) Street (V8's) and jackpot (any engine, but most are in the 10's and 11's) The money is good if you win, but I don't race in that class cuz it is scary when a guy blows by your at 130+ and is half sideways.

Good luck with your meet and when I know i'm coming that way I'll check in to see if anything is going on.

If that's the case, I guess I'll give it a try in Spring. Last time I went, I was consistantly doing 13.7 so I'm not too bad, I guess. However, my reaction times require work.

Thanks. Pray that we have a good turn out for me.

BTW, Anthony, you got 2 weeks so that's plenty enough time for you to get brakes. And I thought you already got new set of tires recently?

Nope, didn't know and don't care (Korean btw). And it looks like more people want it on the 10th anyway. Half the people that voted 17th aren't even remotely close to TX. Whatever the result, I'm going both days and on the 24th as well most likely.
