07 Stillen Intake Airbox dyno - IOSPerformance's 07 350z

Our initial shipment of 07 airboxes arrived in from Stillen yesterday afternoon, so we set up some dyno time over at Intense Motorsports to test them out.
First off, we dynoed the car to get the stock baseline numbers, as this will be one of our project cars. Stock numbers were VERY impressive and also very consistent, as you can see in the following graph.
268rwhp @ ~6600-6800rpms
234ft.lbs @ 5100rpms.

Next, we installed the Stillen intakes on the car and ran it again. The installation was very easy and didn't take long at all. The car never left the dyno and I didn't even get dirty during the install. First impression... wow, MUCH deeper intake growl. The sound difference is VERY noticeable and we gained a couple peak hp, with measurable gains across most of the powerband as well. These numbers were very consistent and repeatable, just like with the stock setup.

Overall I'm happy with the results. We didn't lose power anywhere in the powerband and gained a few horsepower throughout most of the powerband. The intakes sound a lot more aggressive than the stock setup. The stock filters are pretty tiny and with the Stillen boxes there's a lot more filtering area, so you should be able to go longer between filter cleaning/changes. Also, my mpg seems to have increased a bit too. It seems to be around 1.5-2.0 mpg better so far, but I'll update this after a few tanks of gas for more accurate results.
Pros:
-More filtering area (stock filters were surprisingly dirty for only having 2500miles of use)
-More aggressive intake note
-VERY easy installation
-Looks to improve gas mileage as well. (I'll update this once I have more miles on the car too)
Cons:
-Loud at WOT (some may prefer this)
-Cost per hp (due to efficiency of stock design)

did nissan ever market that 3 more hp at 60+mph gimmick on the new Zs that they did for the new G Sedan?
did u install the stock after the stillen intake dynos to re-baseline?

Was the ecu reset after the insall? I'm pretty sure the HR motors are efficient when it comes to the intake side of things. Most of the big gains are coming from tp's and exhaust.

I was curious on if the ECU was reset or not. Not that I think it would make a huge difference or anything.

The factory airboxes take 100% of the air from in front of the core support while the stillen boxes while isolating engine heat will pull some hot air from the engine on the dyno. Also the sound from outside the car is absolutely awesome.

We did not re-baseline as the control really didn't change. The swap was done within 1/2 hour and the engine was up to full operating temperature both times. In other words the install was done on the dyno. If you notice the graph of the first 3 runs, the power is very repeatable regardless of temperature. Also the ECU was reset before the initial pull and then again before the intake pull.

Are the filters stillen uses closed at the front like some k&n filters? Or is it like the JWT filters?
They are K&N's and have the inverted filter cones up front as well as a velocity stack built right into the pipe.
