Default GReddy Evo II Exhaust Arrived!

Well, it arrived to late today to get it installed, but I'm dropping the car off first thing in the morning to have it put on; I will post full pics of the install tomorrow...

After inspecting the parts, it looks like the only difference between the Evo for the Z and the Evo for the G is the extension (obviously) but it is located in a different spot - between the resonator that collects from the y-pipe and the split pipes that dump into the resonator (hard to visualize, I'm sure, so I'll have pics to show you what I'm talking about)

Well, I'll try to post a couple of teasers...

I want specifics because i can't decide between the Evo II and the Fujitsubo. I want tip size, weight, sound, butt dyno, etc.

it's getting installed as we speak, so I'll have plenty of pics up this evening...

here's some quick answers for you though...

Muffler size - big!
Tip size - 4 1/3 in (110 mm)
Weight - slightly lighter than stock, maybe 5 lbs?

The determining factors for me were:

sound - heard it on a 350Z w/ test pipes and it sounded perfect! (big factor for me was quieting the rasp of the test pipes)

looks - wanted a dual canister system, and this was best compromise as it doesn't look real ricey (b/c mufflers tuck under the bumper somewhat) - very large tip and fully-polished design - best looking out there IMO

Power - won't be dynoed until this weekend (but don't have a baseline and will also be adding Kinetix plenum, so it really won't show anything) - I think the design is exactly what I would have done had I built a custom exhaust (was thinking about it for a long time, but would have been around $1300!)

Overall, I pretty pleased with it, and IT'S NOT EVEN ON THE CAR YET!

Sounds like a great system. Try to get as many shots of it on the car as possible. I'm also trying to decide what to get...

Yeah definately as many pics as you can from all imaginable angles. I'm worried about the dual canister look but they are tucked in under than I may let that slide.

Well, I just got off the phone with the installer and he said that everything went together nicely, although he had a little trouble remounting the EVAP box... but he said it looks/sounds unreal! He is finishing up with some touch-up paint work (damn shop door at my house fell down on my trunk! scratched the **** out of it all the way across - but no dent, so he's wet sanding/buffing it out) - the weather here is terrible (SE Texas - a tornado was actually spotted outside our town about 2 hrs ago!) so I probably will only be able to take pics from the inside of my shop (but it's big enough & bright enough that I can get some decent shots) - but as soon as the weather wises up, I'll get some good daytime pics, hopefully this weekend...

The packaging material they are talking about are the staples that are used - because they can cut the **** outta you!

BTW - I'm uploading the pics as we speak, they'll be up in a few...

My car is filthy b/c of the weather, don't hold it against me...

Ok, now for my impressions...

when I first pulled up to the shop to pick my car up I was like :0 From the rear, it looks like a completely different car (it was also debadged while it was there) - I was even more impressed when I turned the key for the first time - Wow! It gave a nice, deep rumble before settling into idle.... I know the exhaust tone will change some in the next couple days/weeks, but I love it just how it is now... there is still a slight rasp during those certain RPM, but it was reduced greatly and is a much lower frequency than before... In the lower RPM's (while cruising around town) the exhaust is so deep and powerful sounding, it makes me think I'm faster than I really am... And when you get on it good, the sound really opens up and is a joy to the ears - A noticable increase in throttle response can be felt at all RPM's, but is most evident in the middle-to-upper range - I really wish I had the time to have done a baseline dyno so I could see what the results are, because I know I would be pleased with them....

Overall, I think it was money well spent - I got an awesome exhaust that looks and sounds the part, and even gave me a little kick in the butt... I think it will go great with the Kinetix plenum that will be installed next week - Thanks again to Mike at RevHigh for the great service and super-fast shipping - it actually made it to me a day before the estimated delivery date!
