Clutch Gone :(
I am a little bit upset, clutch has gone @ ~120k KM. I called around to some shops to get some quotes to get it replaced and oh my god the prices...
I've read on here a bunch that it should cost maybe $1,000 - $1,500 USD, everywhere is about $600 USD for labor. One shop quoted me $1,250 CAD ($897 USD) for the Clutch kit, then another $2,000 CAD ($1,436 USD) for the flywheel. A Nissan dealer quoted me the same for the clutch kit and $1,800 CAD ($1,292 USD) for the flywheel. All for OEM parts - all in all it comes out to about $4-5K CAD ($2,800 - $3,600 USD).
Now, I'm not sure how bad inflation has gotten, considering a lot of the posts about price of parts are from 10-15 years ago, but I still think that's way too much.
I am looking into some aftermarket parts like the JWT Clutch Kit + Flywheel, which only runs about $800-$1,200 USD depending on where you get it.
Any suggestions on other clutch kits I should look into?

I have the JWT clutch/flywheel combo and overall recommend it. It's noisy and honestly sounds terrible at lower RPM's, but it holds decent power and seems to be a great option for the price. ConceptZPerformance seems to be running a sale on them right now making the price even more appealing.

I've heard a lot about the sound, I personally don't mind because I got a kickass sub system and aftermarket speakers to drown out the noise lol

Those prices are reflective of OEM parts. The OEM dual mass flywheel is very expensive and ultimately not worth the cost since they wear out over time and cannot be re-surfaced. If you don't want to deal with gearbox chatter noises at low RPM, then stay away from lightweight flywheels. Go for an aftermarket clutch and flywheel kit, and lean towards a heavier flywheel to keep the chatter/noise down. Engagement/feel of the clutch pedal will feel the same or better.
There's plenty of threads on here covering options, I recommend doing some research/reading before making a purchase, but expect about $900 for a decent clutch/flywheel combo that can hold up to 450ft/lb of torque. Labor rates change depending on location and shop. $600 for a clutch job sounds cheap to me.
Good Luck!

I think I wouldn't mind that chatter (race car makes race car noises or something like that) will probably go with the JWT. I've checked out some of the threads here and it looks like JWT is definitely the most popular and enjoyed so I'll probably go with that after consulting with a shop :^)

Labor prices weren't an issue for me haha, about 5 hours of work and my shop usually cuts me a deal with how often I'm in there lol. Didn't know that the OEM flywheel couldn't be resurfaced, one shop quoted me $200 for remachining it and $2,000 if it cannot be remachined.

Many don't care and opt for a lightweight unit for the performance. Not me, personally hate light flywheels. Swapped an OE setup (kid car) for the JWT clutch but with the 26lb iron flywheel option. Great choice. A tad noisier than stock but nearly imperceptible. Great feel and none of the rev drop nonsense I disdain.

As mentioned, clutch noise is a function (partly) of flywheel weight. Heavy = quieter. OE dual mass flywheel is double damped, heavy (~30lbs), and dead quiet.

Also, clutch failed on me like an hour ago. Was driving and was like "this thing is not making it very far". 7 neutrals and counting... Broke down right when I got near my house hahaha

That's a stupid good price. Go full race car mode if that's what you want, it's a personal preference at the end of the day. But there is a learning curve associated with moving to a lightweight flywheel. Mic hinted at this earlier, less rotational mass means the vehicle will be less forgiving when getting into gear and revs will drop faster which can make smooth shifting a bit harder.
What do you mean by "7 neutrals and counting" ? Is it popping out of gear on you? Or is the clutch just slipping that bad?
Cheers!

And 7 neutrals as in the car don't move no more... Lost power to all gears completely, friend said he thinks I blew the tranny, which is possible. Won't know for a bit.
