Default z1motorsports Osiris Engine Management Mail In Flash Service

Was thinking about doing the Osiris Engine Management Mail In Flash Service offered by z1 Motorsports. Any comments or suggestions? Is there anyone out there that has done this that can tell me if it worth it?

Thanks in advance!

Regardless if Z1 is a great vendor or not you're really selling yourself short by mailing in your ECU for a generic flash, every car runs differently and without datalogging (or checking it on the dyno) you're not going to get nearly the benefits that you could with the tune..

I've actually decided to make the 12 hour trip to Z1 to have the tune done. It's scheduled for Sept 20th at 10:00 am... Can't wait!

Adding MREV2 in a couple of weeks, and possibly adding some headers but haven't decided on that one yet.

thats nuts. esp with the limited mods you have. You drive past many uprev tuners only hrs from your house that can do the exact same tune. on 93/91 octane its very straight forward.

I bet a emailed tune would be 95% of what the dyno tune will be.

Agreed 100%. spend more in gas driving there than the tune costs

Actually there are not a lot of options in kc for 350z tune. I could only find 2 and neither had good reviews. Good thing I've got the money to blow I guess!

me personally i would prefer a dyno tune over a mail in... mail in is going to be generic and not specific to your car.. and every car is a little different. how far is the drive from where you are to austin tx..... you could go straight to uprev

As long as you don't have an 03 you can datalog and dial in the tune very well over email with uprev's software and reflash cable. As long as the guy doing the etuning knows what he's doing you can get very close to the same results as a full dyno tune.

Driving 12 hours for a simple bolt on NA tune is just absurd.

You live in NC and you presume to know all the chop shops in my area that will tune my car? Impressive

id definitely try to find a shop closer to you, theres gotta be at least 3 closer than 12 hours away that do Uprev tuning, we have like 6 here in florida alone that i KNOW of... theres gotta be something closer...

and yes it is correct the mail in will not be "efficient" but if you have any idea to tune it would be a good choice, no offense though, if your going to drive 12 hours to get it tuned im going to assume you have none or very limited knowledge on the tuning process..

do a lot of research and find a shop closer.

Yes, your assumptions are correct, I am just a girl who loves the Z line of cars, in particular my own What little I do know about parts etc. comes from hours of research and reading reviews on forums, as I'm fascinated with engines and cars in general. I am just looking for the best possible work to be done to it. I understand that to some, my mods are "minimal", but to me they (and my Z) are an investment and I just want the best for her....

You are right there is 1 reputable shop in St. Louis and a few in Tennessee, but for a little bit further of a drive I get to road trip it to z1 motorsports!...sounds like fun to me! I guess it's not just the tune that I'm looking forward to, it's the experience of going there as well... Call me crazy

damn, no offense, nice car, for a girl...
road trips are definitely fun, the mods are "substantial" but are decent gains, more so then people are giving credit for, for the most part... i mean 40-50 hp is a decent jump over stock..
if youre set on the whole road trip thing, Z1 isnt a bad choice and could be a good experience and im sure youd learn a few things from them as well, either way i hope you have fun and enjoy the car, she is a strong car treat her right and she will treat you right.
