A V8 Z with the world economy in the state it is, it is a stretch to keep hope for that to happen. And a 4 wheel drive V8 Z? Not going to happen IMO. Why would Nissan take the Z up closer to the level of the GTR?
Would no doubt be cool. But IMHO I just don't see it.

I'm more for a 500Z with the new 5.0 liter in the FX50. 390hp which I'm sure could be tuned to get a bit more.
At 3,100 lbs it could still be fuel efficient. Look at LS powered Corvettes from the last decade. With proper gearing, weight, and aerodynamics you can overcome the V8 stigma.

it wont be a 450Z, they already started using 5.0's in the FX. I imagine all the V8 nissan/infiniti vehicles will have 5.0's by 2010.
Give me a 500Z V8 RWD. I dont want AWD because it will be AUTO or DSG and break if you turn the VDC off (thanks GTR). I just want regular 6spd, RWD, V8 and 450Hp. And keep it under 50k MSRP with Nav. 45k Base, 49k with Nav. I'd take that in a heart beat. Then someone needs to make a nice supercharger kit for it. Then your making 550-600whp on <10psi, it would look great, sound great, go low-mid 11's with traction and be a blast to drive. Thats my fantasy

That bump certainly makes us wonder. I just can't see them adding an optional hood hump to a special package without doing something to the engine. Nonetheless, I'm still fairly skeptical that there will be any engine upgrade options, but I'm not entirely ready to toss out that idea either.

Manufacturers do not put scoops in cars for looks, they are functional.

Um, have you seen any Mustangs in the past 15 years? Bunch of fake scoops that are not functional. Manufacturers put all sorts of
$h!t on cars to look 'cool' that isn't necessary.
Not saying Nissan is going that, but don't be ignorant.

Don't read more into it than what it is.

Im gonna speculate that since you said "we wont be dissappointed" we are probably getting 350hp a la 380RS? Am I close? I just cant see a V8 or awd Z at this time.

Zsport1, you seem very insightful. How about giving us some hints? Seems like you know something. Will there only be one engine offered? What do you think?

Regardless, Zsport1, says it is just camo. So it seems there is not a scoop anyway.

The new 370z will increase in price a bit over the 350Z.
That makes it even tougher to slot something between the 370Z and GT-R.
Plus, A 450Z with AWD will add weight back into the Z chassis, probably around 250 pounds... a 3500 pound Z car??? Let's hope not.
Now, we're back to a car that is neglibly faster than a 370Z. Granted, with AWD but with more weight as well. I don't see the demand... price could be $5K-$8K higher, minimum. Maybe if you live in severly snowy or rainy conditions...
I like the whole "let's make it lighter" mantra being applied to the 370Z... not added weight and complexity that AWD and the 4.5L would add.
It makes more sense to keep it RWD and grow the engine to ~4L... a 400Z with ~380HP stock and negligble weight increase, if any. It would be a great way to push support for NISMO, if you brand it a NISMO product. Or just be done with it and turbo it from the factory. Turbos are the future... more power per gallon of gas. They're making a comeback.
