Thumbs down VIP Status Wheels Issue #2 or more

So its seems that I have had no other resort except to write up this thread, after I get no updates from Rick @ Vipstatus, and since the original thread addressing the original was closed by Chebosto.
I ordered a set of wheels from Rick (work meisters) on 06-30-09. <==Yes that is the correct date on my bank charge. He informed that Meisters were kinda fading out from style and not being produced unless ordered at that time. Rick also told me of course that the sooner I ordered the faster the wheel would be produced. So I opted to order after rick reassured me usual orders only took from 60-90 days to recieve and probably would be the same amount of time for these.
I would call Rick, about every two weeks to confirm if the order had arrived yet. Usually this was the Response "Not yet, wheels are still being worked on by the company." At times all I got was "Rick is not in at the moment, please call back later"
Around November, Rick pmed to inform me that most of the production at WORK japan stops for the holidays during that of year, so it would take a bit longer than usual and probably be after january before I got them.
During this time, Vipstatus, changes their name to Status Auto Design and I cant get a hold of Rick during this time since all the phones lines down and some numbers I guess changed.
Around late febuary, Im able to get a hold of Rick and ask for any updates. Still He mentions work is finished nor started with my order. during this time, I learned more about the wheels specs, and asked if I could change the Size, color and offset since they had not ever started my order. Rick says ok, and makes all adjustments. I mention to him I have a show that I have to be ready for here in houston, but Rick informs for sure that the wheels will definately not make it in time for the show and asks me if I would be cool with a set of loaner wheels. I agree and he sends me Gram lights wheels. I only get three before the show since Fedex ****** up the shipment. So I finish the show with only three wheels but im not concerned with that, more importantly I keep wondering how long before the miesters come in.
Since April I have gotten nothing but empty promises, and false ETA's from Rick saying that those are the real Etas given to him from WORK themselves.
In the old thread, another member posted he had similar issues with Rick. as the thread dragged on, more members began to surface questioning Rick about their order's as well with an average of a 8 month plus "waiting time".

I understand changes to the original order would delay the arrival but a year and half?

Last time I spoke to rick on the phone, He mentioned for sure the wheels would be in by December 13th. That came and went. I called rick again asking about the info he had given and he mentioned Work is apprently having "issues" completing the wheels and he would definately pm or call me once he a "concrete" ETA for me.
No calls, no updates, no pms from Rick, and everytime I call "VIPstatus"
Everyone seems to be lost, and have no clue about Jdm wheels...All the can say is Rick is the only who would know.
I have contacted other vendors and even other vendors comment that a wait that long is total BS. Qoute "VIPStatus has dropped the ball time and time again"
So Rick, I only started with thread to bring light to this neverending issue with my wheels. I just want what I ordered and what you said you could deliver which you have not. Its just been constant lack of communication from you from day one. Yes I still have you Gram lights but I dont expect to keep them, I would gladly ship them back to you if would kindly reimburse me for my original order minus the tires of course. Unless of course you can find some other prompt resolution. I dont feel like waiting another year on false Eta's and lack of concern for a "Reputable Vendor."
And I as recall correctly these members are also waiting for their wheels as well.

I plan to keep this thread open until all members who are having an issues and concerns with Rick@Vipstatus are all properly addressed.

I am sure if a mod closed the other thread, this one will be closed also. I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are going thru. I would just ask for a refund and wait for a good used set as i did. I am very happy with the price I paid and very happy with my wheels. Good luck.

Check the 370 forums, he jumped on there and I think he was doing alot of r&d and hadnt been in the office. I have never dealt with him, just read it there so I wouldnt worry to much, i am sure if your order is in, when it comes in itll probs go to you.

From what I hear the wait for Venaci/works is ridiculous anyways to enjoy the wait.

Well, this means I'll never order wheels from VIP Status.
I have long since given up the notion of long distance shopping. From now on I'll buy my high end wheels local and let them deal with the headaches. When it falls through, you can get your money back. Long distance buying makes it near impossible to get good service. I know most of the time things work accordingly but someone always gets shafted.

There are some exceptions. I would buy long distance from D2Autosport in NY. They are a class act.
If you don't know the dealer you select, be careful about sending your money to someone who can hold it hastage.

Na, mod said in the other thread open a new thread if your still having issues. He's still having issues. There is no reason why this thread should be closed. Good luck to you still, Black...

You included a note with your order that reads

If you can not ship on or before blank cancel my order and return my money immediately.

Of course you did right?

i hate to hear this. i have done business with rick a few times over the years.

i always bought product that was in-stock and items were always shipped quickly.

he has also been very reasonable when negotiating higher ticket items (i.e. cars)

with me.

sucks to hear he is coming up short black. surely this was not his intention as he

is in the business of actually selling wheels and not ****ing around with his client's

earnest money deposits for their kicks.

First of all, I usually don't post here because i'm usually on Supraforums.com. But another supra member told me, "If you want wheels", get on my350z since they're all ballers and get new wheels every week"! Well, i didn't want used, so i wanted something new. I ordered my wheels in April..Supposedley be a present for myself..For years, working like a dog, stashin cash, landed a new job in surgery...never buying **** for myself..It was a treat for me!...So, I wanted to hook up the supra with some dope *** wheels....I've always wanted some meisters, So I grew the ***** and pulled the trigger! I had two vendors in mind Ravspec and Vip-Status...I'm originally from California, plus I have family there...So Vip was the choice...Also, a couple dudes from sf.com ordered from them prior..And had nothing, but good things to say!

Anyways, Rick offered me a great deal, for the specific color of face/bolts/lip etc...Hell, he said he'll throw in some baller *** lugs..Which, he did!!!!! no doubt, He said 60-90days eta, somewhere between those lines ...I was like alright, I said. Well, im in vegas for my bday. I'll put in the payment, when i get back to Dallas!...Alright...End of April, I put in the order...First the deal was, I thought I was going to put 15% up front....Now, he wanted 50%...okaaaaay, whatever..Money sent!.

I've called Vip numerous times on my work break, with conversations that usually go-in-between the lines like this, "any word on the wheels" "any update" "eta" "did they ship out" ?...Ricks, always busy....The staff is oblivious to what comes in...But, theyre happy to take a message!...I don't know..I just had high standards for Vip status....I see every fukn Z, that has meisters was hooked up by Rick! Even on supraforums.com..Rick hooks it up! I'm not talking ****..Rick is a cool guy to talk too and all. **** i have him as a friend on facebook....But business, it's kind of lackin..Yanno, Not a lot of people can blow a couple G's on some wheels...I have a couple buddys who ask me, "Did you get your wheels yet"!?!?!? Kind of embarrassed, I say no......Like i said, i had high hopes!...I had no problem of giving Rick ,"more business"...Like before, i'd tell all my buddys and be like yeah, Vipstatus! Rick is my wheel dude! He's the go-to guy! They hook it up! Theyre great! Ask for Rick!....Now it's like....I don't even know.......It's been 8 months...I'm usually Impatient, and have no idea..How i've been waiting 8months! Now im a point, where too now!??! I fronted a couple G's...It's 2011..No wheels? ...Maybe, it was the wrong time for me to buy wheels?!?! Just my luck? Anyways, no flaming here..Just venting and stating facts..No ********, just keeping it real..

I don't get how this stuff happens. It's not rocket-science. Mackin and Work KNOW how long it takes to make custom wheels. In return, they should be able to tell Status, who should be able to relay it to the customer. It's not like these are one-off productions... they've made the model before, now they're just customizing them a little.

This **** just doesn't add up.

Hope you guys get it worked out soon... I honestly wouldn't be able to sleep w/ 3-4 grand out in space for that long.

I understand this thread and this is what I got out of it:

Great vendor, great guy, and great wheels. I do not believe Rick is out to screw anyone over and he has supplied a lot of the nicest looking wheels i've seen on Zs, Gs, etc. However, it is sad to see that members haven't been receiving messages or updates about their items when asked for it. I believe if a paying customer asks a thousand times, "What is the status of my order?"... I would expect a thousand answers. And I do agree that the wait time is ridiculously long. 8 month+? You can make a house for that long.

I, however, still have high hopes. So high that I purchased wheels from him back in early October with a delivery date of mid-late November (if bought now, can get it to you by date stated). It's approaching mid-January and still no wheels or word from the vendor since 24 Dec.

Even though I was given a November date, I am still giving him leeway time as I know it is a usual 3 month wait. I just hope mine doesn't take as long as any of you members that have waited 4 months - close to 2 years...

Again, I'm not trying to bash on VIP or Rick... I just see a lot of threads on my350 (and other forums) with the same issues. And seeing that the staff at VIP doesn't even know what's going on is kind of sketchy to me... I'm sorry for you guys that have to wait that long and I hope I don't fall into this category myself.

Good luck to all.

I talked to Rick, everything is somewhat sorted out....Still waiting on HRS enterprises though..

Since it has been taking a long time to get my wheels..I talked to Rick, So now, He's going to give me the wheels at wholesale price..Reinburse the difference and cut me a cashiers check...Ship the wheels on HIS pocket. Give me a copy of the invoice and everything...All this will happen.......As soon as, the wheels come in...
