i had the v12's and they were grippy until they wore down, then they got slick. i would wear them out in about a year, the last tires i went with were the BFG sport comp 2 and i liked them more the the v12. even though they were they same sizes, they were noticeably wider

I've had the V12's on my LMGT4's for about a year, and they're the best I've ever had on my Z - previous were the 452's. Tread wear has been even and great after the first 10K miles, and they're also quiet and really good in heavy rain (which we get a lot of here). I'd buy them again.

From what I have heard treadwear is not standardized, so you can't compare between manufacturers.

My take on UTQG found here:

But now slightly tempered by the compelling commentary in same thread.

I'll say it again, Continental Extreme DWS can't go wrong. not overpriced, handles great on the dragon, and great warranty to boot.

The BFG GForce Sport Comp-2 is a great summer based tire that will wear well, do great wet, and come in under budget. I've not had a complaint on those tires yet. Personal fav of mine.

I agree on BFG GForce Sport Comp-2, been running 245,285 for a year now and they been great. Also they were the best price out of all brands I saw in that size.

Just bought the v12 evo2, newer version of the v12. And i have to say, a little disappointed. Gonna try the gforce next and see how that go. The sumitomo hrtz2 was decent but overpriced. Pattern was sexy thought.

On the list next will be gforce and r888

T'bo, what don't you like about the Hankooks? Just curious.

Just ordered another set of S-04s (ones I bought just a few months ago will go with my wheels that are going on the block shortly.) Was going to opt for Mushylins again but the S-04s which I'm running on one car now are damm good that I don't mind NOT buying the PS2s - at near twice the price. Heh heh.

But I was *THIS* close to just pulling the trigger on the "bargain basement price but damm they're good" Sumi HTRZ-3s again but the S-04s were less than a c-bill more for the set so what the hey. (Special at TR)

Currently running on toyos and loving it! About two years ago I had potenzas on my stock wheels and they handled beautifully in our rainy days in California lol. I've learned my lesson about investing into good tires. Don't go the cheapest route... Had raptors before, they were all bad lol. Good luck OP!

Well to be fair, the tires only have 15 miles on so not full break in yet, but I feel the side walls are really soft. That the response and grip isnt well, but I attribute that to the tires not being broken in yet. I got these for 700 shipped so either way, im happy with them haha. But I had the super cheap sumi z2 and and the only positive is the tread pattern.

I will update once I get the chance to break in the tires properly. But I think the side walls being soft is a huge deal breaker for me. It does ride smooth though.

The Hankooks do get a bad rap for this but what I'd suggest is to play with the tire pressures to find what works for your car. Some tires just like to be run higher (and sometimes staggered) - maybe 40psi or more - to keep them from rolling over. Point is, there's a sweet spot for any set of tires on a particular car

The Sumi HTRZ-2s were so bad when compared to the HTRZ-3 that I'm surprised they're from the same company! Just for kicks, after I ordered my new S-04s, I went back and read reviews on the HTRZ-3s and was really surprised how many people sang their praises. Positive to negative ratio was like 25:1 or more. All say the same thing I've been saying..."Not as good as Mushylin PS2 but for less than half the price, there's no other like it!"

so i was able to put about 100 miles on the tires and heated them up, i have to say, it made a HUGE difference in term of grip and response.

i have to check into thre htrz3 and the r888. the r888 is expensive, but i wonder if its worth it. the htrz is cheap and if its as good as everyone says it is, it cant be beat! for the price i pay for the v12 new, i have to say im happy with them. every other tires i looked into, 275/35r18 were all around 1k or more. so i figured, if these do better than the htrz2 i have, ill be happy. so far, after the break in, playing with the psi, i have to say, for what i paid for, these v12 has top be the best dollar to performance tires i have ever gotten.

T'bo!! As much as I like the HTRZ-3s, please don't put them in the same sentence as "R888". Hahahahahahaha!

"Competent and Economical Max Perf street tahr versus dedicated DOT-legal race rubber!!

Uhhhhhh....

Here, see how this works: "I have to check into a 350Z and a Yugo." BUWAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA..... ehhhh.

Note: my apologies to the Yugo afficionados amongst us.

Hahah hey, if i need a set to do burn outs i sure as hell isnt going to use the r888. I understand the r888 is gonna dominate the htrz3 in everything, the question is how good is the htrz3 compare to the other brans and if the r888 is worth the price tag.

For how much r888 runs, i can get the htrz3 AND bf sport comp haha. When i said checking into the 2, clearly im not comparing them since there is no comparison haha. It was more of a "should i cheap out and get the htrz3? Will it be ok? Or should i just break the bank and get the r888. Maybe the r888 will be too much for the streets."

No way was i thinking "hmmm whats better the r888 or the htrz3?" Haha i not all of use can afford a gtr so were stuck with our 350z lol. Not all of use WANT a gtr so we went with a 350z haha
