2003-2009 Nissan 350Z General Exclaim UHP Summer Tire Review: Tread, Grip, and Wear

By -

General Tire’s Exclaim UHP (Ultra High Performance) for the 2003-2009 Nissan 350Z is a summer tire for the Fair Lady enthusiast on a budget. While low in price, it still provides outstanding grip, response and control in dry conditions as well as strong resistance to hydroplaning in the wet. Molded into the unique directional tread design is an advanced silica compound that reduces friction between the rubber molecules and dissipates heat more effectively.

A double-V directional tread pattern along with wide, solid shoulder blocks enhance wet performance. The tread compound and design work together to keep water from coming between the tire’s contact patch and the road, improving wet grip while greatly reducing the chance for hydroplaning. Twin steel belts make up the Exclaim UHP’s internal structure. The belts are reinforced by spirally wound nylon and topped with polyester body plies. This combination results in super-responsive handling, high cornering stability and high-speed durability. With a tread wear rating of 380, the Exclaim UHP should outlast many other ultra high performance tires while offering comparable performance. The Exclaim UHP’s Z-speed rating will allow you to take your Z to speeds well past the double nickel without having to worry about your tires being up to snuff. With sizes ranging from 205/40R17 to 295/30R20, there’s an Exclaim UHP for every wheel. Whether you decide to use them for spirited daily driving or the occasional autocross, these tires are excellent choices for the budget-minded enthusiast.
