2009 Nissan 370Z vs. 2003-2009 Nissan 350Z

The 2009 Nissan 370Z is the latest addition to the Nissan Z-car family; the 370Z follows its elder brother, the Nissan 350Z, and sees Nissan enter 2009 in fine style. Unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in October, the 370Z is soon to be released in a coupe version with the roadster to follow in a year.

There is a lot for the 2009 Nissan 370Z to live up to. The Nissan 350Z won more than 40 different international awards, as well as positive reaction from the industry and media. This process has already begun, with console gamers having the chance to drive the 370Z in 2008’s “Need for Speed: Undercover” before the car’s release onto the market- trumpeted by Nissan as the first time a car maker has premiered its car in a video game.

The initial headline for the 370Z over the 350Z is its increased power. The released specs for the new kid on the block include an exciting 332-brake horsepower in comparison to the 2008 350Z’s 306 bhp. The 370Z also comes in a 7-speed automatic version compared to the 350Z’s 5-speed. The new Z’s shorter wheelbase will excite petrol heads, too.

The good people at Nissan certainly do not seem interested in fixing what isn’t broken. Cannily, they have kept what was popular about the 350Z and concentrated on tweaking things to bring a bit of extra performance from the new 370Z; including new fender arches and lift gate, as well as an intelligent key system for increased security.
