Red face Is this exhaust a POS? Opinions, plz

Hello,

Excuse my newb-ness but I came across the following exhaust and wanted to get some feedback from 350Z professionals:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-350Z-Infiniti-G35-Z33-Resonator-True-Dual-Catback-Exhaust-System-Y-Pipe-/200912147967?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A350Z&hash=item2ec74c15ff&vxp=mtr
Is the price too good to be true? Will there be any benefit to install, or will it just sound like a s***-can?

BTW, I already have a Megan Racing MR-SSH-N3Z Header and a Greddy CAI.

Thanks in advance!

i think if you are asking, then you already know the answer..... i would wait and get something quality versus something cheap that you will replace later on. i initially bought the invidia gemini, it was around 900 new and i sold it for 550, sounded good to me, looked good.... see if you can find something along that route

That's a HKS knockoff = crap.... The H pipe is going to have real small equalizing holes that don't do much of anything from pics I have seen... (ps) from personal experience stay away from the authentic HKS as well due to the huge obstruction their H pipes create... I hear they have corrected that issue now but there is really no way to tell unless you shine a flashlight in to check it out...

I wouldn't say that exhaust tho is a POS but you do get what you pay for... (lol, but in my case I paid for more than what I got with the HKS) ... The best thing to do is search and see what people are having good luck with and what thy like... There are many people who are happy with those knock offs but others who have had a heck of a time getting them to fit properly as well... Just luck of the draw there I guess...

Exhausts sometimes are tricky things because you can not see inside where it really matters... After all I thought I was paying top dollar for quality and got a quality obstruction right in the path of the airflow...

I had that H pipe cut out and put in a X pipe...

Thanks for the response and the pics. Looks solid!

TBH, I am only looking to exacerbate the tone a bit. I am not looking for max gains. Its not a matter of quantity over quality for me, but rather a cost-effective way of achieving a deeper tone. Hope that makes sense.

Just edited my post above a bit.... If your looking for sound and not gains then that would probably sound pretty decent I would think... Just will be the luck of the draw on fitment...

Thanks a lot for that! I re read your post with the edits. Are you saying the fitment of the headers to the exhaust might not fit, or is it an issue with the 2003 model all together?

If you even think that it's POS, then it probably is.

What he said...

Knockoffs can have fitment problems from the Cats back actually and anywhere in between... It's a roll of the dice...

I personally would save up a bit more and buy a 'original' kit from somewhere and not a knockoff... At least then you will have a better grasp that the fitment will be better from the get go...

New people ask questions. Would you like me to draw you a diagram of that paradigm?
