From what I've heard borla sounds the deepest. Search for Dr Bonz and Borla, he has some good videos. I ordered mine from Ultimate Z 2 weeks ago but its back ordered, once I get it I'll post some audio clips.

borla sounds very close to stock..very close just a bit louder...not very noticable difference...i used to have borla, i switched to injen and i love the way it sounds..very loud but not annoyingly loud.

Pro1 is only 500 bucks and is really deep sound. The catback alone sounds really nice and some what exotic. But when you do things such as headers and y pipe or test pipes. It sounds to loud to some people but to me it sounds like a race car.

what kinda deep? with my borla and no cats it sounds exactly like a exhaust'd v8 on the low end. The cams make it sound even more domestic with it's deep idle. Up top it doesn't sound domestic nor Z, it sounds great and have gotten countless compliments, but I truly HATE the borla cheap *** flange-less exhaust system. You will leak unless if you get every section welded. I've had my exhaust for over 50k miles now and i've always had to fight leaks. Finally just welded the damn thing. I'd like to upgrade to the HKS dual now.

The Stillen sounds pretty deep, it's one of the three that are the deepest. It's got kind-of an exotic car sound, but deeper than usual exotic car sounds. It's supposedly gains the most too. Though it is one of the heaviest exhausts available.

BTW, to the thread starter, it depends on what you mean by "deep." If you mean LS1 deep, or 4.6 SOHC V8 deep, or 302 deep, then Borla is what you are looking for. However, if you think those sound like crap with longtubes, x-pipe, and exhaust, then any other exhausts will do. (frankly, all of them other than Borla, Stillen, and Magnaflow all sound like rice, most of these owners of these other systems will tell you they sound deep, but most of them don't absolutely crave the sound of a 281 2V with BBK LTs, BBK x-pipe, and Borla exhaust )

You haven't heard deep from a Z till you run it with out resonators and mufflers. Just for a laugh, today while I was installing my HKS, I cranked the car with nothing but the cats. Everything else was removed. It was DEEP and LOUD. Sounded pretty darn nice, i didn't hear any rasp at all.

My previous vehicle was an 03 Ram with the 345hp hemi. I put a 40series flowmaster on it and the z with no resonator/muffler was louder AND deeper sounding.

You could always have someone weld in a cutout before the resonator. That way if you feel like makin' some serious noise you can "uncork" the exhaust. They have cutouts that are remotely operated either electrically or manually via a cable.
