Default New Injen CA Intake SP1985 Dyno Pics and vs Old Injen CAI

Ok i know i posted this a little while ago, but never posted any pictures, so here it is again.
First off would like to thank Intense Motorsports. They now have the 5 of the New Injen CAI SP1985 instock, so if you are looking for one, they are the place to go! Instock and better prices then anyone out there!
Ok now for the dyno. First off i know it is damn near impossible to compare dyno number's on 2 different days. But you have to consider this, my old set up (Injen exhaust, test pipes, and Old Injen CAI RD1985) I got around 249-252rwhp on a much COLDER day. My new setup (Injen exhaust, test pipes, and New Injen CAI SP1985) I got 262rwhp on a much HOTTER/HUMID day. So that has to show something.
But enough talk, time for pics.

Since they are both SAE corrected, I'm not too interested in the different days, but are these on the same dyno? There is more descrepancy between two dynos than the same dyno, different days.

Thanks for posting the pics!

Yep same dyno. I guess back in April Intense never added their logo to the top of the dyno sheet? haha

I've got a question.

Why don't the two curves in the second dyno cross at 5252 rpm like all dynos are supposed to?

EDIT: I looked at the graph again. Did they shift your torque axis up a bit?

There were some problems with the Torque #s at first, then thought they solved it.

And no a SES light will not come on because of this intake, but since i have Test pipes my SES light is always on.

so what happens to the MAF sensor...is it eliminated from the intake entirely, or relocated?

these are pretty good numbers....what are the claims of the older style injen intake?

MAF is relocated in the Injen intake tubeing.

The first dyno sheet is the old Injen Intake, the second Dyno (Intense banner on it) is the second dyno with the new Injen intake.

Its replacing the RD1985, mine is the SP1986, i just put it 1985. I guess i named it wrong, thanks for pointing that out. (I just looked at the manual its SP1986 lol.)
And the picture Hop-up racing has is the older version, they need to update.

Ok cool Im definatly going with an SP1986 then, no question Will order it together with a new exhaust in a few days time, most likely the RSR and a nice y-pipe.

Could the gains from the filter be caused by the "built in" AFM? Or how does that work? It says that it replaces the need for the stock AFM...

Are you gonna order from www.IntensePower.com ? I would considering most other places like Hopupracing.com, and those type do not have them instock and will take alot longer to get to you. And Intense has it instock. Intense probably has the exhaust you want instock as well. But i personally would not go with an exhaust that still uses a Y-Pipe, it is more restrictive, not a true dual, and will not be as loud as say the Injen exhaust. But do what you will, its your preference .

And do you mean the MAF, not "AFM"? The gains are obviously from the Longer tube, basically the less restrictive the better, and somehow the injen tubeing is better then the stock MAF tubeing.

Yeah, dont know if i mixed the letters or if its called both? hehe like "Air Flow Measurer", or "Mass Air Flow..."... ahh forget about it...

Hehe are you working at Intense motorsports!? If not maybe they should hire you as a sales representative

Intense has about the same prices as hop-up, if they have the exhaust + intake i want i would surely order from them if they have parts in stock and can ship earlier + that you have good experience with them is a big plus.

BTW how does the intake sound like? Say compared to an AEM (Drive a Z with one a few months back)

Lol nope i dont work at Intense, just a great company i support. Ya i think they should give me a job too, wink wink .

Ya Intense is the same price as hopup, but hopup does not have the intake instock most likely, because to my knowledge they are just an online store, and that just drop ships and does not carry instock. Intense has the intake instock, and depending what exhaust you want they have may have it instock, or they can get it instock very fast.

The intake sounds great, you can hear it suck up as much air as possible. Really whistles after 3-4k rpm's.

You have some great numbers for the mods you have, I would like to see your a/f's I bet you your ecu is one of the ones that compensates nicely for your mods, and not one that runs lean with mods and pulls timing. Now I bet you $10 that when you put on your Crawford Plenum combined with a long tube intake your going to lose power or not gain any at all, keep us updated.
