Nismo exhaust
Hey,
I was searching thru some old threads in here and a guy was quoted $1,100 from his dealer for the system including installation and people commented that it was robbery to pay that much. I have seen the Nismo system by itslef online selling for over $1,000+ so what would be a good price for just the system?
If I can find the accomodations, I could bolt it on myself but where is the cheapest place to get the system that you have seen around? I haven't found any new ones on E-bay yet.

Wow, didn't realize the thing weighs 70 pounds.
Thanks man.
If the guy paid $1,100 with tax and the instalation, I don't think he overpaid all the much.
I mean $850-$950. Ok say, $900 plus tax plus, a ton for shipping, then having to install it, I don't think $1,100 is all that bad, if it included dealer instaltion and tax??
$850 with free shipping would be nice.
I really like the looks of the Nismo and hear they sound good, at least the clip I heard and there should be no issues voiding the warranty either since it's a factory item.

Not something we wanted to do ... Thank NISSAN for that one!
Just like FUJITSUBO raised their prices for the new year, now NISMO has on the exhaust and a bunch of other aftermarket parts...
MSRP went from $1100 up to $1200
The price we used to sell the exhaust for that you listed above is now LESS then it costs us to purchase from NISMO.
For the money, it is still the most complete cat back exhaust system that is the only one that is fully covered for 1 year / 12000 miles from any NISSAN Dealer.
Our price is $950 plus shipping. It comes out to be around $1050 shipped.
They are in stock.

Show me an exhaust that actually makes the 10-15 RWHP they claim with ONLY that modification...

Once you get past the Exhaust Leaks / Clamps from the Borla its a good system. I personally do not love the sound. The tips look good from the back. I think the small canister doesnt act like as much of a diffuser as the NISMO Exhaust canister.
The NISMO exhaust fits the look of the car beautifuly. Sounds great, not too loud, keeps the tone of the 350Z. It is 9lbs lighter then stock. There are only 4 points to worry about leaks, but they are flanges that bolt together easier then the many connector set pieces of the Borla.
Over all, the NISMO is a higher quality exhaust IMHO. The Borla is good too dont get me wrong, but the slip / clamp design leaks alot and the sound is too deep / boomy for me.
Here is a sound clip of the NISMO Exhaust only on my car...

I had the borla on for like a week and a half.
It had a meaner/louder sound at startup and at idle than nismo. It also was very mumbly sounding. Like if you go hum "hmmmm" it was almost hard for a male voice to talk over without speaking louder.
At WOT it sounded kinda typical/normal to me. Nothing too special, not too exotic. Some people claim it sounds like a V8...yeah whatever. It sounded generic to me.
I switched to Nismo after hearing Jason's car and am happy. It has less drone on the highway, and screams louder/meaner at WOT

That's the kind of first person stuff I like to hear. I really like the stock sound of the 350z and it sounds like the NISMO will help keep it nice similar. I have always liked borla, but this is not the kind of thing that you can 'try before you buy', normally.
Thanks
