Default AM I a 2004.5 or 2004?

Here is the criteria for the VIN to determine if it is indeed a 2004.5:

Production at Oppama Plant (T) (to be discontinued at the end of April 2004)
For Coupe models
JN1AZ34D*4T160001
JN1AZ34E*4T060001

D*4T153673
Production Date: 10/2003

I don't know how to read the chart. I have a knee pad on the pass side.

Thx!

Here are the instructions...

2004 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs up to D*4T160000,E*4T060000) (Roadster VINs from D*4T102001 to D*4T110000 & from A*4T002001 to A*4T010000)

2004.5 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs from D*4T160001, E*4T060001) ( Roadster VINs from D*4T110001, A*4T010001)

Your vin number is 153673 which is less than (i.e. up to) 160000, right? You have a 2004.

Does it matter? Other than a slight change in the suspension, is there anything different between the two?

Yes, it does matter. A 2004 is essentially the same as the 2003. The 2004.5 models are where the changes came into play. I know for a fact that the wiring harness is different because I was trying to use a 2004 manual to track down something on my 2004.5 and it didn't work.

Fair enough. Honestly, I thought they were the same thing minus the suspension/tire feathering thing.

Learn something every day.

Thanks, guys! You indirectly helped me determine I have an '04.5---f-l-a-w-l-e-s-s, so far!...NO feathering, NO starting problems, NO overheating issues, seamless AT!!! The only problem I've had with her is the driver's side power window motor; I had to replace it, early this year. Otherwise, a SWEET ride!

What does it mean when the car has a "corrected title" on the record? The VIN number (I won't put the whole thing) but it goes JN*AZ**D74M******. All the *'d are numbers.

I have no idea how you did that but that was amazing, no I'm not being sarcastic. And how can I tell if it's a 04 or 04.5? The VIN # doesn't follow the VIN's you listed, it doesn't even have a "T" in it.

The full explanation goes like this...

If the letter before the 6 digit serial number is "M" instead of "T", it's a 2004.5 because it was produced at the Oppama plant.
