Good news is that no one was seriously hurt. So my gf was driving onto the on-ramp of the freeway when she lost control and smashed into a wall. The weather was rainy and the roads were slick. When she called me to pick her up I was horrified. All that I saw was the Z's hood crunched, the front bumper laying in the middle of the road, and the vehicle half way over the curb against a wall. My question is have any else totaled their Z? How much damage would it take? I have a 04 model. Both air bags popped out also. I really dont want the car to be repaired since I feel it will never be the same again, but Im afraid it would be in the best interest of the insurance company to repair it even if repairs cost $15000. Id rather get paid out so I can get a new Z.
DUMP HER YESTERDAY!!!

After seeing your pics, I change my mind. Yup, probably totalled.

The front end looks bad, no telling how bad it is under the hood.
Usually when your front has that much damage it is even worst than it looks under the hood.

Good luck..

It looks totaled.

If I were you I would be thanking God that she is alright. Who cares about the car. The Z did its job and protected her, many other cars she would not have been walking away from that.

Moral of story: never let anyone drive your z. Remember how long it took to master driving your z? Its not a car just anyone can just hop in and drive safely.
Yeah, it sure looks totaled. The frame is prolly tweaked beyond repair. Educate yourself on how to deal with ins co. You have lots of rights most people don't know about in these situations.
Sorry for your loss.

You can't tell if it's "totalled" from the pictures. It all depends on how far back the damage goes. If it's all in front of the engine block, they'll push to repair/replace parts. My 2001 AE Maxima was 6 days old when my wife got into a head on collision. $12K worth of repairs and 6 months later, I had it back. And the CarFAX is clean.

By the looks of your Z I would say about 20,000 to 22,000 in damages. I hope its totaled. Plus having to wait for parts and the repair of your Z is the worst feeling. I am amazed our Zs can take a good licking and have the driver or passenger safe and well after an accident. Good Luck!

Good advice for us all to remember. The Z is a high-performance sports car, not a Civic. I've just let a few friends drive my Z, who I knew their driving abilities/experience.

My rules: No one drives my Z without me in the car, NO BODY!
No women drive my car (unless they have sports car experience).

The only other person I allow to drive my Z is my tuner or other shop professional after having some work done. No friends (M or F), no relatives, NO BODY!

I actually have my car covered only for me driving it. Now I don't have to be made out to be a dikc when I don't let people drive it. I just tell that it is not insured and I will not risk it.
