Redline or Chrome Silver?
I had a redline to pick up in december and after seeing the silverstone next to a redline, I came to the conclusion that the red looks good 50% of the time but the silverstone is just classier and looks good 100% of the time. The red on the acura looks deeper which I like better. Also, the door handles look better on grays than something like red imo....bottom line, I decided to cancel the red and ordered a sliverstone even if I have to wait 3 more months!
My God, it seems that everyone in the world has the Chrome Silver. People will start yawning when one drives by becaue they are so common,
Personally, I was torn between the Redline & the Daytona Blue - - I chose the Blue. However, Redline is equally as gorgeous. I have seen them both, and you can not go wrong with either the red or blue - but NOT silver !!!

I too had doubts after I pre-ordered my Red Z.
While waiting, I changed my mind a hundred times....but now I have my new Z and the red is better than I expected. It is an eye-catcher.
Go with the red.

I would really recommed that any Z owner build up coats of Zaino on the car. It not only offers incredible shine and reflection, but it actually contains an SPF sunscreen. It will prevent fading of any color paint (including the Redline). Of course, I will always keep my Z in the garage when it is not on the road.
By the way, I read somewhere that over 50% of the Z's that have been sold to date are Chrome Silver. IMHO, a sports car should have a color that is vibrant and "head-turning". CS and Silverstone are classy but too subdued for my taste.
The reason that I finally chose Daytona Blue over Redline is that the blue is metalic, while the red is not. The blue looks extremely hot up close as well as far away. This is just my 2 centimes !

One more thing - - cops really do love red cars. I have been driving a red Celica for several years and I get pulled over when I am just doing the speed limit or slightly above. I have seen old station wagons pass me like I'm standing still and the cops just let them go. I think that a State Trooper would drop his Krispy Kream if a red Z drove by.
I guess it all boils down to preference. If 50% of the Z's sold to date are CS, then I guess that is a good indication of the potential ease of resale for CS owners. Not that I plan on selling my Z for a very very long time, or that ease/value of resale is the key buying point for choosing color, but I was just pointing that out...
Should Zaino be used even on the CS? I am just wondering how much of a difference it will make compared to any decent wax or polish. I have seen how wonderful it looks on colors like Brickyard or Black, but just wondering if it's worth it for CS.
P.S. Daytona Blue was definitely my 2nd color choice. Bravo!

By the way, I am sorry if I sounded like I am dissing the Chrome Silver. It is a beautiful color and was my first choice when I started to look at Z's.
IMO, Tail looks better on CS
and front end looks sharper on REDLINE.
Overall, Redline looks 200% Sharper than CS
and CS looks 200% classier than REDLINE..
I have seen both of'em and like them both..
I know it's very hard choice but REDLINE is definetely
standing out more.
Well... what i know....

I ordered red, canceled the order for SS, now I got the SS and love it even more. Maybe it does not bother you guys but I love the car, hate the door handles. Looks cheap to me, ruins the beautiful lines of the car. I wish they could have made that an option. Not only do I like the SS and chrome Z's but it is the only colors where the door handles do not stand out like a pimple of a beautiful girls face. When I lok at other colors, the first thing my eye goes to is those handles because of the color contrast. They look too rice for me, IMHO...
You do not need to throw stones at me for disliking the door handles, I love the car all things considered. Everyone has a opinion....
