Redline or Chrome Silver?
My only decision was Redline Touring with Frost or Black interior. I had ordered the Frost without seeing it but found a Black available and took it. Saw the Frost at the auto show in DC and the Redline/black is better. Red has attitude which is what the Z is all about.
While I really like the redline, I chose the Chrome Silver. Chrome silver just does not show dirt. I own 2 other silver cars ( a Volvo and a GMC Yukon) and I've been very happy with both. I have owned red cars before and after 4-5 years the paint started to fade. I realize the Redline has clearcoat on it but I just don't trust red in the long run. My 1974 260Z was a cross between red and orange. It had very severe paint fade after 4 years. I kept it well polished but it didn't help.
Bottom line... To each his own.. I happen to like the Chrome Silver..

But both colors are beautiful....I passed a chrome silver Z on the highway the other day and it made me think twice about the color....I love all of the Z colors...they are great.....Just make sure ya get what ya want.... :-)
While all the colors are gorgeous (except the white) I have to say go for the silver. I say this because I'm sort of sick of red. My 3000GT is red, my bike is red...having a red Z in the garage as well would have driven me bonkers.
I'm leaning towards blue. Guess I better decide since I'm going in this afternoon to order a touring with nav.

I spent a lot of time investigating colors like yourself. I went to the various lots in town "multiple times" at night like 11:00 p.m. and scoured the internet! I boiled it down to CS, DB, and SS. In the end when I had to make a decision ( I had to order a car within the window) I still was perplexed. In my mind there were too many CS, the DB just seemed to change color based on the light and did not have a homogeneous color ( the gas tank lid is a different hue) so I decided to go with SS which was my first choice to begin with. As it turned out, I didn't have to wait for my car. Five days after the order, the dealer found one from a nearby dealer that had just arrived that met my specs. With all the effort that I had put into the color selection, all the concern went away as I drove it home since the car is sooo awesome. I am glad that I picked SS since it makes me feel good (regardless of what anyone else says) and I think it will pass the test of time! However, any color that you choose for your Z will be a winner since there is no "ugly color" for this car!!!!
I did the same thing. All the colors look fabulous and I spent nearly a week widdling it down to blue and chrome silver. After finally seeing a blue I went with the gorgeous and classy chrome silver. I know it's kinda common...but it's still the one I like the best.
I actually ended up going with neither one of these colors. I had originally placed my order for a Redline, but changed my mind at the last minute and ordered a Silverstone
