Default Shifting hard and notchy when cold?

I only noticed it since it started to get cold here. But it almost feels as if it doesn't want to go into gear unless forced. You think the synchros are going bad or is this a common thing for the stock trans. fluid. Maybe I should try changing it with some Mobil 1?

If it's really cold outside, i give the car a couple minutes to warm up. Then the shifting feels fine

Every standard that I've owned has done that. The thick trans grease gets even thicker when the temperature drops in addition to the fact that metalic parts fit tighter when cold.

I start my car, put it in neutral and let it idle for a while doing my "pre-flight" and that seems to help some. Of course, in LA it's not quite as cold as PA so I'm probably not getting it as bad a you.
