Default the character of a color

so me and one of my girl/friends were walking down the street earlier today when we saw a cs 350z. she said "ah look your dream car justin" and i'm like "yep! change it to (le mans sunset) and i'll be in heaven." and so we fired off in a discussion on how colors describe a person's character.

so what do you guys think?

for me...
chrome silver: ah the most obvious choice. not willing to take chances, but still has taste.
silverstone: a little more riskay, but still, not very willing to take chances. more elegant than chrome silver, less sporting.
super black: hey you like to wash your car! and you obviously don't live in so cal, where it's hot as hell in summer. but very very sporty, very very elegant. the best of both worlds, if you can keep it clean.
pikes peak white: see chrome silver.
brickyard: riskay, in the elegant sort of way. the most risky color, the most elegant color.
daytona blue: unbelieveably sporty, though blue is usually considered a royal color. this blue is different, however, and is royally sporty. kinda like...ben hur.
le mans sunset: so utterly stunningly sporty. no elegance, no royal, just pure, great sport.

Default What do I think?

I think you left off Redline, which is my favorite.

C. Silver, Silver S., and Redline are safe, (read conventional) (but still awesome) colors, Red suffers most from the Cop magnet stories.

S. Black and P.P.White suffer from the too dirty syndrome. I don't think that PPW is an obvious choice, or more buyers would have made it.

D. Blue & Sunset are the colors that I see as taking a chance. I love the blue, but I am out on orange cars.

And yes, I find the Brickyard a more mature or elagant choice, which creates a dichotomy with the nature of a hot looking sports car. (this may make it a good choice)

I think a better way to look at it is how the color of a car makes you feel when you're driving it rather than the color defining your character.

Some colors like bright red can give a sporty feel to an otherwise mundane car. Put a color like that on a real sports car and you have a double dose of sportiness. For some people, that may be too much. For others, the more excitement the better.

Ben Hur?

Do you like movies about gladiators? ....Ever been in a Turkish prison?

Just kidding. I drive brickyard, and its personality changes with the weather, lighting, etc.

Ben Hur definitely has chariot racing. Spartacus too, I think.

For royalty, I think they could have produced a car in the same color as the Crown Royal bag, but that probably wouldn't sell too well.

Silversone is timeless and simply beautiful when clean, much more so than chrome silver (my oppinion)

Red is awesome, so is black.

Lemans is ok, but no Sonic Orange

Blue is a little to sporty for me, looks a little cheap? (again, all my oppinion)

Brickyard is a nice color, just a little too Lexus/Infiniti like, you know.

Here we go again:

1. Silverstone -- style and class
2. Brickyard -- sophisticated and unique
3. Black -- sharp sharp, sharp but a pain in the ***
4. Chrome Silver -- very nice, but a little too common these days
5. Daytona Blue -- great for the "kids"
6. Lemans Sunset -- "Please won't someone look at me? Please?"
7. White -- Just not my favorite
8. Redline -- Just not my favorite

(Disclaimer: Just my opinions -- don't mean to offend anyone.)

Default color combinations

anyone have the chrome/silver with burnt orange seat combo............the black/bo looks soooo nice but the maintenance of the cs is much easier.

In reading some of the posts on color, many people have said negative comments about the LeMans Sunset finish. I do appreciate the ones who simply state their oppinion and would not buy that color, but some seem to think it is risky, asking for attention and wanting someone to notice you. Well, just a few comments for thought.

1. A 350Z cries look at me in any color period.
2. The orange is very friendly when car is dirty, so easier to manage vs say black.
3. Orange has been a defining color for sports cars in the past- 69 Camaro Hugger Orange for example. I see the 2003 350Z as a defining year and a collectors item.
4. If you were to put your money into classic collectible cars over the past 20 years you would have done better than the stock market over that same period of time. Cars can be an investment and I feel that the Lemans Sunset is unique, just as the Brickyard is for this Car. I will keep my Z for a very long time and hopefully it pays off in smiles and $$$$$.

This post is simply for thought and ads a twist as to why one does what they do. I love the car and all the colors it comes in. Have fun, enjoy the ride and smile.

roflmao!

I had narrowed my color choice down to the Daytona Blue or LeMans Sunset. My wife took one look at them and said "Get the Orange one. You're buying the car for attention anyway, so you may as well 'go all the way.'" She thinks my ego rages unchecked at times, and often claims that cars are an extention of my, er, defining male-ness."

Incidentally, she's the one who helped talk me into buying the Z over my other options.
