25! Drool... lol... I don't think I'll ever see that.

Part of the problem is the *perceived* mileage... that is, the RANGE is so darn short, you feel like you're constantly stopping for fuel. I start looking for fuel at <= 1/4 tank, so I can only go around 200 miles before I'm shopping again.

I bet if it had a bigger tank, people wouldn't notice or complain about it as much. The additional fuel costs don't bother me nearly as much as the inconvenience of always being out of fuel.

How far do you Z guys go before looking for a fillup?

Yeah, i'm not saying the 8 gets great mileage. Just stating that the city and highway mileage is very different.

Sorry but I doubt there's an 8 owner getting 13 city and 25 highway. It doesn't vary that much.

If you get 13 in the city in an 8 you're probably lucky to see 18 on the highway.

As for flooding goes, there are two main things that cause it.
1) the car must not be shut off until it is in the normal opperating temp.
2) due to the fact that they burn oil, they go through spark plugs fast. The pulgs should be changed every year or 15,000 miles, which ever is first.

If the two steps above are followed the RX-8 will never flood.
Too much for me to remember. LOL
Damn ****** engine. Oops... I mean wankel...or do I?

I really enjoy driving a car that no one understands, it makes me feel smart.

Oh, yeah; you shouldn't shut off any engine until it is warmed up, unless you like carbon lock. But, i'm sure you already knew that.

When did I ever say it was faster? Listen moron, I had an 04 350Z and I traded it for a 05 RX-8 6speed. Guess what a$$hole, it was the best decision I ever made. I'm not trying to start a flame contest, so before you reply to this, shut up.

You're a rarity then. I'd get my engine checked if I were you or check how you calculated your mileage and try again.

If you want to think your car is the best in the world so be it, i'm happy for you. Maybe it is the best car for YOU, but for others it's not. I'm not posting in this thread anymore; this is pointless.

Yeah.. It's funny. He seems to know his mileage city vs. highway to an **** retentive T.

I was on the Rx8club forum for ages. I've owned 3 rx-7s and while they were great cars they sucked gas like someone commiting suicide. Regardless, 15 city and 25 highway is just dreaming. I feel a bit sorry for his level of stupidity. Then again he is just a troll.

I personally would much rather deal with our problems (of which I have none now) then to deal with a car that was labeled the most unrealiable.

Rusty rotars, idiotic mileage, engine failure to just name a few of the Rx-8s problems. Besides the moronic styling (my killer). I see the car and I just feel like it's bland. If you need a back seat sure, then I would consider it, but I would consider many other cars first. I'm a rotary freak and if they manage to get that engine to something attractive performance wize with a new Rx-7 I may jump ship. It's a poorly executed engineering and design failure IMO.

When I was on the Rx-8 forum I saw soooo many people dump it after getting it. Who the hell wants to rev a car to 6k to get some power out of it on the street. At least a S2000 has style. Besides, it sounds like a high reved sowing machine.
