Ordered 7/28/02 & ETA is January 2003:(!
After contacting nissan headquarters I finally found something regarding my z. According to what the rep said my estimated time of arrival was January of 2003. Honestly I think that stinks considering 350z's in general was in production the day i placed my downpayment. And there was no vin number in the system so its not looking very good for me right about now
! If anybody here ordered around my date just plan on the worst. Looks like i am going to be a scrouge a Xmas now. Any comments.

Thats bs, when you ordred yours the damn z was not even out and probably not even in production yet. You waited 6 mos because you HAD to. My situation is totally different than yours.
The pre-order system had expired when your order was placed. This means you got put in the dealers standard queue. January might be legit.
You might be able to go through another dealer and get it quicker, try calling around.

There's a big difference between the date when YOU ordered
the car and the date when YOUR DEALER ordered the car. Ask
your dealer exactly what date he placed the order. (He may
lie.) At this point, it shouldn't be more than 3 months between
the date when Nissan receives the order from your dealer and the date when the car arrives. (I got this information directly from a rep at Nissan.)
Some dealers won't be able to order your car for several months
after you place your order with them because they already are
backed up with orders. Of course they won't tell you that unless you ask. (Even then they may not tell you. These guys are usually full of s**t.) If the dealer has actually placed the order with Nissan then he will be able to give you an order confirmation number. (Don't believe any excuses.)
