Are tires really on Backorder from Nissan ??

I brought my '04 with 13k miles to the dealer for a noise it was making and after fixing the issue, they called me and said that it was starting to experience feathering and then replaced the tires right away, no questions asked.

I'm getting new front tires and an alignment done to the my Z. However, the tires are on back order... 
At least the dealer did not give me a hard time. I dropped the car off and told the service rep that I need a diagnosis as instructed by Nissan. Two hours later the service rep told me that he just ordered me two new front tires at no charge!
I have to wait until the tires come in, but I'm happy...!
