Perspective? "...the ramifications of Bernoulli's law, Venturi's effect and discuss how the all important Poiseuille's law comes into play".

Yea, and I've got some oceanfront property in South Dakota you might be interested in, too. LOL!

its also not appreciated when someone comes on here and spouts off physics laws like they pertain to something and that we are morons for not understanding it. I do not know what your area of study is, but regaurdless of understanding, it is quite obvious that this person sat down with a physics book and started writing down a bunch of crap. cause ya know what, unless this was your area of study, you would not know this, and since he himself claims to be a law student, I dont think physics is at the top of his list.
Understood! Never really saw the part of not fast, I automatically interpreted not fast enough. Two completely different things. If in fact i'm able to afford the car by the new year, i'll be at the same place i'm at right now. My best run in my camaro is a 13.79@102, so i'll be about the same.
Thanks for the clarification!

Default note to us dummies

My dear fellow, your entrance into this site has been less than stellar and an extreme waste of time and bandwidth. You have primarily engaged in what us old farts used to call a "******** rap". Such a rap usually involved certain illegal substances and their use brought on this phenomenon. It begs the question, "Why do you think they call it dope?"

So far, we have not been impressed with the responsiveness and power
perhaps you took that properly, but personally I find it hard to not be impressed by the power the Z has. I guess the phrase is open to interpratation. but he certianly has written a statement that contradicts what many magazine editors(who have driven way more cars than any of us I would imagine) think.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Poiseuille's law apply only to laminar flow. I would assume that flow in an intake or exhaust would more than likely be turbulent flow. This is only an assumption by me from what I recall of the Reynold's number. In car intakes and exhaust the radius of the pipes are relatively large as well as velocity in comparison to the viscosity of the incoming air. Therefore with a relatively large radius and velocity over small viscosity, I assume that the Reynold's number would be large. Correct me if I'm wrong. Haven't used my fluid dynamics education in 8 years.

well to drop the lingo(since I dont know it, I took freshman physics, all a premed major needs to know)

headers are designed(good headers) to put out one cylinders exhaust behind the other, so the flow is constant and not in spurts. but then you have to have back pressure, so cutting it off at the headers isnt reasonable. otherwise there will be no backpressure to creat low end power.

I have some special cars, and I feel this one belongs in the stable.

Smart and Rich. Could you post pix of your wife or girlfriend, or both. That would be some kind of trifecta.

One of the duties of the wise is to educate the less fortunate. Could you do so? As you mentioned, we didn't get it. However, I think I can guess. You got a great reaction with your flame bait, while I drew next to nothing with an honest question.

By the way, didn't Bernoulli drive for AJ Foyt in the early 70's.

Redturbo, you've spouted a pile of terms and general theories that can apply to anything. If there's anything specific you wish to say, please say it.

I enjoy the Z a great deal. It has so much potential as a real sports car at a reasonable cost-that's why I'm excited about it.

Thanks for the support & kind words. You said what I apparently couldn't.

Have a good evening people.
Unlike others, I will be civil. You don't seem to understand how to comminicate in automotive forums. You may use complete sentences, if you wish. I do and people like me here. However, attempting to sound intelligent by calling people ignorant while trying to sound eloquent is not a good way to establish a reputation for yourself. I'm sure many individuals here are far beyond your writing ability (mine too), but they don't use their writing to try to sound smart. It doesn't work. It has a reverse effect. Also, taking a few physics courses doesn't establish you as the Einstein of my350z.com and if you were really trying to make a point in your post (which some are questioning), then frankly, you really should come out and say it.

Im questioning it because at no time did he explain anything, he simply said "stuff" which Im not totally familiar with, I wont claim to be, Im a biochemistry major, note no physics in that term, so my knowledge of STP is only from chemistry, not physics.

however of all those terms, he said, I never saw him explain anything instead he just told us to scratch our heads. Id like to hear an nice explanation from himself, to me that would authenticate that he knows what hes talking about, but so far I have seen no such thing. in my years of college science theres one thing Ive learned, knowing terms and definitions does not equal knowledge of application. and that is where intelligence is.

Ohh...now I see why he is soo upset. Just saw his other post. So I assume you posted this in response to your pop charger install and are explaining its effect on intake flow. Well, I will take your word on the vortex effect you may be getting with your intake therefore increasing volumetric flow. But where you lost credibility is with the following statement, "Consider these questions under Standard Temperature and Pressure conditions." The problem with this is that you disregard fluid density. Now this gets into areas which I am unfamiliar with and I believe the only person that can answer this an engineer with education in combustion engines, or I'll go ahead and give it an educated guess:

The increase in volumetric flowrate you get with your vortex intake is negligible due to the decrease in the density of the incoming air due to higher air temperature. In the end a loss in hp.

That is why I believe people doubted your hp gains with the pop charger.
