Default Turbos and Intercoolers

Hey I got a ?

Why are most Intercoolers mounted right behind the Front bumper ?

Is that the best place to keep the intercooler so that it stays cool ?

Does this type of configuration give the turbo engine the most HP and Tq

intercooler is there to cool the air, just like a radiator, gotta have a breeze, cooler air means more dense air, which means more air in the same space, which does mean more hp and torque.

oh and thats not always where they go, the WRX has its on top of the engine, and that hood scoop puts air over it. same idea tho, just not a space savy.
