Question 2005 Enthusiast in shortage?

Are the Enthusiat model in shortage? I called several dealerships in town and they all have at the most 2 enthusiast model in stock and over 10 touring models. There seems to be a shortage of enthusiast models and hard for me to find the color and options I want. Anybody experienced this?

Not in the NE. I did a dealer search yesterday for an '05 Performance in a 100 mile radius in DB and only found two... but there were LOTS of Enthusiasts and Touring models to be had.

I'd defer to someone with hard facts but I could see a shortage of Enthusiast models because it is the best buy and, I'm guessing, the best seller.

Thats the way it was in my area. My dealer had 10 tourings, 1 performance, and 1 enthusiast. Of those, only 1 was a 6 speed. I had to get them to go to Louisiana to get my Enthusiast 6 speed.

Thanks for the info...but was $29,000 out the door or $29,000 plus fees and tax? I have two weeks left before i have enough money to even start thinking about buying one.

I would guess 29g + TTL. I checked several other dealers and there is definately a shortage of the manual enthusiast. Most dealerships only has one and some has none. I also found a lot of automatics on their lots. This is really pissing me off. The Z is not a limited production vehicle and I am having a hard time finding one that meets my specs. Which is basically any color except redlind and yellow with manual tranny. I only found one dealership and they are 50 miles away.

Imagine how hard for me it was to find a fully loaded SuperBlack Track. What a nightmare. Glad she's in the garage now though.

the enthusiast is a popular model but with the amount of z's that are being produced, i doubt that there is a shortage

yupp i got my z for 29,000 plus tax and dmv fees, which all comes out to 32,000... I also find that it was pretty hard to get a hold of the yellow z with 6spd, cause most of the lots that i went to had mostly auto... good luck with your search.

Thanks...hopfully they'll still have 04s laying around their lots in two weeks. I really can't afford to pay MSRP on the 05s. So if they have any 04s left, I can basically live with any color. i will like to get CS or Lemans tho.

I choose Enthusiast over Performance cause:

I planned on 19" wheels
I hate the idea of TCS, and VDC is even worse
