Default Dude, Wash Your Car!

My neighbors have not washed their Z's in the 4 months that I've lived in this apartment complex! One is PPW and the other is SS. (There's also a Redline, another PPW and a Super Black, but they're kept clean). It's really sad and I hate to see it. Like a millimeter of brake dust on the front rims and absolutely no reflection from the overhead lights. That's hella dirty.

There should be some kind of Child Protective Services for 350Z's that are so abused and mistreated by their owners. Maybe I'll start a 350Z Rescue, like they have for unwanted or mistreated dogs, get these Z's to people that will care for them. Some times when I'm polishing my car I want to spray their rims at least but that would be too weird.

I might clean my Z more frequently than anybody at my apartments but to not clean in 4 months is ridiculous. Actually, I have not "washed" my car since I bought it in September, but I have the California Duster which works like a charm, and a couple of spray bottles (one with a Wash n Wax and water solution and the other with just water) and a couple of 100% Cotton Made in the USA towels, some glass cleaner and Eagle One tire shine and that's it. But no hose downs. I paid for the special wax and sealer from the dealer and they put some kind of 5-year wax job on it; no joke, it's working awesomely. So I'm afraid to wash this wax off with harsh high pressure washes. I also don't have access to hoses. Am I crazy? Well I get motivated by the daily smiles and stares I get, it's addicting.

I'm giving California Duster presents for Christmas. And today I found a California Dash Duster for the interior! I highly recommend these products...! And they're less than $20 but guaranteed to last for YEARS. "The dirtier it gets, the better it cleans."

lol you Norcal folks and your slang. I knew where you were from before I even looked at your location.

Yes The Cali duster is a wonderful thing. I have em in all sizes and I keep a small one at all times in the glove box.

Had to smile when I read about the California Duster....I use one of those too, and it takes off the dust from my garage like friggin' magic. I only wash/wax my car once a month, and even then, it doesn't need it because the duster keeps it so clean and shiney.

Seem like one of those "extras" they put on to hike the price up. When I purchase a car I tell em to remove it or the extra price. I don't need it.

heheh fitting name with it burns, it had to burn when the dealer got you with the wax.

5year wax bwahahaha. it wouldnt be SOO bad but it makes people think not only do they not need to wax it for 5 years, but they shouldnt. when in fact its crap wax to begin with, and probably gone in 2 weeks.

First, go ahead and re-wax your car. I do 3 hour detail job every 1-2 weeks living in SoCal. I swear by my Cali duster too, esp this past week. I had a film of dust everyday by the time I left school, even though it was clean as a showcar when I got there.

Secondly. I want some of that gas. I would gladly pay $995 for it. Hell I might even get a few gallons so my fuel indicator doesn't always look low. That's a real deal.

I will let you know when the wax is gone. So far it's been good for 3 months. And my Z is the cleanest one I ever see on the road.

I offered to wax my sister in-law's new Altima with NXT wax the other day. She looked at me and smiled and said, "well I dont need it, I got a 2000 dollar wax job from the dealer, I dont need it for five years",

I had to laugh to myself, because my neghbor who is into cars had just came by and noted how nice hercar is but how badly it needed a wax job.

I dont like to upset people, but I would recommend not ever paying for that again on your next car. You can definitly see and feel the difference between hers and mine.

I am sure that if you wax and buff your car every few months, it probably has a deeper shine than my car; but I bet my car is easier to clean and looks better for it than any car without it. So there's an important distinction to be made. I guess I am between the Zaino cars and the regular car wash cars.

I was skeptical about it of course; I've seen Fargo! I'm not sure why I agreed to it, I guess I was feeling lucky. It included 3M on the interior, and that looks very clean as well. And it certainly didn't cost in the thousands of dollars!!! So I took a chance and I'm happy with it! Like I said, haven't seen a Z out there as clean as mine.

Yes, the wax is still on it; I can tell because the dirt slips off like hot butter. I guess you'll never know if you just knock it.
