Does taking TCS off really make a significant difference in acceleration?

Pre launch control, in 1999 at the Japanese Grand Prix, Mika Hakkinen got a great start, beat Michael Schumacher to the first turn and went on to beat Eddie Irvine (who is now looking for a job since he's been sacked by Jaguar) for the title. You won't see too many of those starts any more.
Hey Bernie, loose launch control!
Yup... you guys are right on the money.
I don't turn TCS OFF because of acceleration.
I'm not smooth driving a stick so I jerk the car easily.
So TCS senses slip easily when I start 1st gear and shift to second (getting better). It cuts throttle and jerks the car a bit... it's like not giving enough gas when releasing the clutch causing the car to stall.
So when I turn TCS off, I drive pretty smoothly and the car doesn't jerk as much when I shift. It makes a difference when spiritedly driving.

oh man!!! I have a friend who owns a C5 Vette. Those Vettes have a similar system that works almost exactly like the Z, although you can turn off the Vette's TCS/VDC independently. He designed and built a microprocessor that turns the system to ALWAYS OFF, but remembers the last setting that it was in. It's easy to install, and was so popular with Vette owners, he's sold a few hundred of them on his web site.

He's pretty confident he can adapt this for use on the Z. He just needs to see the Z tech manual to know for sure. I told him I could use my Z as a guinea pig.
Anybody interested? Group buy perhaps?

I ordered the Track because I wanted the Brake/tire package (better resale also). I was disapointed that I could not opt-out the traction control. Just more stuff to break in my opinion, while being an annoying interference.
Now that I got It, I will however use it in the rain, or snow.
