Default 30,000 mile maintenance question

Sorry if this is a repeat, I had trouble searching the old posts for this and only found a few.

I need to get my 30k mile maintenance done. I called my dealer's service department and they said they don't really do it for the 350z.

He said it is pretty much an oil change, new air filter and new in cabin microfilter. I looked in my manual and there was a lot more stuff it said to do. The service guy said they don't do it to the 350's.

Does that sound right? I want to do it so they can't come back and void my extended warrranty.

Thanks, Richard

Call another dealer, get the info, you can ASK you dealership how much they charge you to do exact what the scheduled maintence guide suggests.

i asked my dealer the same thing cause i am just over 30k. and they gave me a detailed list. here ya go:

1)replace engine oil and filter: 17.95
2)Lubricate all locks and hinges: INC (i assume this means included)
3)Lubricate propeller shaft: INC
4)Replace engine air filter: 9.95-19.95 (Z is probably the high end)
5)Replace wiper blades: 9.95-16.95 (yeah right)
6)Rotate tires/Air pressure: 16.95 (wont apply to Z)
7)Replace Auto transmission fluid: 119.95
8)Replace engine coolant and flush entire system: 59.95
9)clean and service induction system: 99.95
10) inspection of the following systems:
a/c, aut tranny, axle and suspension, brake lines, pads, rotors, drums and linings, cruise control hoses, differential oil, drive belts and hoses, exhaust system, drive shaft boots, ball joints for suspension, horn and lights, limited slip diff oil, stearing gear linkage, steering gear joints, all fluid levels and topping off, battery terminals, shocks, and drive axles.

Total on this is 398.55, if need fuel filter add another 49.95, and if need in-cabin filter add another 89.95.

grand total of this big daddy is 538.45

of course while looking at some of these above not only do they not apply to the Z but some of them i just flat out know i dont either need or want. first i just did the brake pads and rotors. and second like i am dumb enough to pay dealer prices for windshield wipers. c'mon i wasnt born yesterday. not to mention the joke of a price if they were to try and charge me for my tires. hell i know more about them then they do.

500 bucks for a 30,000 mile maintenance is a lot of money, then i remembered what a ferrari owner pays for his 30,000 mile maintenance

Thanks, I called Courtesy Nissan and he said they did what sounds like should be done. Bad side is it is $430, but I guess its something you gotta do.

Thanks for the replies.

A family Infinity tech claims this car is practically maintenance free. Oil, air filter, the micro filter (inside the cabin) is pretty much all you need (maybe even replace your coolant every few years - under $10 & DYI)!!! Save your $$$.
