Default Break in question

I know the manual states go easy on the motor for about 1000 miles or so, but I heard from people that withint the first 100 miles I should redline the first 3 gears to set in the rings for the higher rpms. I dont know if thats safe. Please help. Whats the best way to break in a motor?

lots of controversy on this subject, not only for the z, but for many other cars....best advise is do your own research and decide for yourself...
personally i would keep it simple and follow the manufacturers' recommendations.

When in doubt why not listen to the folks who build the car?

keep it under 4000 RPMs, for the most part, for 1st 1200 miles.
