Default i've got a piece of metal going through my floorboard.

pretty sweet.

i was driving yesterday and i started accelerating when i heard this loud POP. it sounded like metal against metal, so i pulled over. i thought it was my front sway bar link but everything looked ok. i got to my friends house and still heard it, so i opened the hood, nothing, then i got under the car.. and i see a piece of metal rod, probably 1/4" x 10" sticking through my floorboard. i pulled it out, and now there is a hole there. i'm not sure if i can see it from the interior due to the carpeting, but i will check it out. i can't wait to hear what the dealer has to say about this. i hope replacing floorboards isnt too costly. i'll take pictures soon.

the pole went through the black part that is showing, and then if you look into the hole, you'll see that it also went through another layer of silver metal, which i'm guessing is the floor pan.

I doubt that they will replace the entire floor. They will most likely sand both sides down to bare metal, weld the hole shut then recoat the underside.

be sure to coat it with some rubberized undercoating to prevent rust.
