Default HRE weight

"You are paying for pure looks - I'm sure these things weigh a ton."

Not quite.

HREs are renowned for their light weight. Typical 500-series HRE 18's weigh less than 16lbs, if memory serves me. That's on par with anything from Rays.

They look pretty damn good, too.

Just curious,

I don't remember who said it here, but there were a couple claiming that its not a bolt-on piece. I wish I could remember the thread. I don't have time to run a search. Please say it isn't so. I want that spoiler. lol

Does it come with beefier hatch lifts to offset the weight?

Thanks for the pics, Victor! I second the motion for PPW when you get the chance!

And Todd Luc, the wing is bent upwards to creat more downforce... which helps to keep the rear of the car firmly planted at high speeds. As far as the looks are concerned, that is your opinion. Personally, I think it enhances the rear end of the car, but I'll reserve final judgement until I see one in person.

Default I love those rims

I was originally going to get a set for free, 8.5's in the front, 10's in the back. Too bad the show car guy found another Z. The 445's are gorgeou's, and HRE's are NOT just show car rims. They are made for quality sportscars. I talked to an engine mechanic with a HEAVILY modded Porsche Turbo that recently tied a Mclaren in the 1320, and he has HRE's on his car and says they are the longest lasting, highest quality rims he has ever owned. The 445's are 3 peice, I think....

That, I did not know.

As far as reserving final judgement... true, true.

I'd be willing to bet these rims are 24 lbs.
